I saw an elderly couple while I was taking a walk around the neighborhood with my three year old daughter. They must have been in their late 70s. They were holding hands and looking into each other’s eyes like teenagers off to their senior prom. There was such a spark and true love in their eyes that took my breath away.

They walked as if they were the only ones on earth. That show of love made me think of what their “story” could be. Were they high school sweethearts or did they meet unexpectedly by fate? Maybe they were childhood friends?

It is rare to see such love like that. How has it weathered many decades? I feel that in the media they talk about divorces so much that people lose focus
