The new year is right around the corner… that means it’s time to take out pen and paper and jot down our New Year’s Resolutions for 2011. Work smarter, play harder, eat better, and oh yes—exercise on a regular basis. (If you can’t tell, our list is pretty much the same every single year.)

But there’s one constant problem. Usually by January 2nd, we’ve already hit a lull on our fitness promise. Not this year though! Fred Engelfried, Advantage Private Trainer at The Sports Club/LA, shares with us five simple ways to get your mind on track so you can finally get fit and strike it from your list—for once and for all.

 

Refocus

The number one reason people give up on a goal is that they no longer believe it is possible.  But did you know that losing 1-2 pounds of fat or gaining 1-2 pounds of muscle per week not only is realistic, it is practically predictable

All well and good, but it takes discipline! These days it's on again, off again with my exercise. It's terrible.....it really is! I used to be so disciplined at the beginning and then it has waned. Better pull up my boot straps or rather my runners and work out clothes and get going!
