In an open relationship your partner doesn’t need all the gory details about your life with other people, but it is very important to make sure that they know when you are having relations with other people. You need to keep your relationship honest, just like in any other kind of relationship.

2. No unprotected things outside of the relationship

This is more of a health issue. You and your partner may be sharing yourselves with other people but you don’t want to share anything else. Use protection, you and your partner will both feel much better about things when that load is taken off of your mind.
