Many thanks for all your kind comments on this and other poems Jhelai. I acknowledge my Grandfather as a very early influence on my writing - he penned a lot of verse and parodies and even composed his life story in verse, with an audio on tape that I still have today. He introduced me to recording audio when I was around 10 years old, so a tape deck of my own was a treasured gift in the days before cassette decks... That ages me doesn't it, hehe. Best wishes, Dave

Thank you Jhelal - yes he remains a very strong influence. My youngest sister also writes some poetry, but was very small when he passed away so has only his writing to refer to. My middle daughter also writes poetry and stories, so the tradition in the family will endure for some time yet. :)
