Remember vintage candies?
People have always had a sweet tooth for sugary confections. Vintage candies that were popular in the 1960s and earlier may have been replaced by new products in eye-catching wrappers but the memories will never die. The world was a different place fifty years ago and wrappers did not include things like nutritional value, warnings and every ingredient included. Everyone just knew they were eating pure sugar.
Easter was a special holiday with decorated eggs and woven baskets filled with jelly beans and little yellow edible chickens. These chickens were a special treat with a sweet shell that encased a marshmallow. Peeps chicks were first introduced in 1954 by Just Born, Inc. after purchasing the Rodda Candy Company. Peeps are still making chicks today
