Deep in the Jordan Valley and 55 km southeast of Amman, is the Dead Sea, one of the most spectacular natural and spiritual landscapes in the whole world. It is the lowest body of water on earth, the lowest point on earth, and the world's richest source of natural salts, hiding wonderful treasures that accumulated throughout thousands of years.
To reach this unique spot, the visitor enjoys a short 30 minutes drive from Amman, surrounded by a landscape and arid hills, which could be from another planet. En route a stone marker indicates "Sea Level", but the Dead Sea itself is not reached before descending another 400 meters below this sign.

is this true about dead sea?
Indeed the Dead Sea is beautiful and has a great view around.
But I don't like to go in the water because is like oil and when you
get out of the water you get white from so much salt.Ichhh :-)
Thanks to all ,
I invite you all to visit jordan and enjoy at the dead sea ,
@ Akber , yes my friend this is true about dead sea ...... :))
Wonderful post. Though is packed full of facts, it almost reads like a story. I didn't want it to end. It has a poetic air about it. I'd love to visit Jordan .. of course curiosity would push me into the see LOL .. but I'm with Victor ... i don't know about that salt on my skin. Great job. I'm glad I stopped by.
Thanks justgabm , you know the salt of the dead sea used in treatment and cosmetics , its good for skin health , i go there every month , i like to swim there , come and try you will like it ...... :))
nice
Thanks Gporiki ,
Thanks Walter
I know Wael, they sell cosmetics having as main ingredients minerals from the dead sea, here in the malls. Big money maker too. Maybe I should start planing next summer's vacation .. :-)
You mean you go and "float" lol, in the dead see every year ...
How often would you have to go to see any kind of results? do you see a difference in the skin, of do you just feel it? I know .. too many questions ... take your time.. You opened a can of worms lol ..
Ok ok , well
@ justgabm , first time you go and float you will feel the result on your skin ,
but if you want the best result you must go to ( Ma`in Pools ) you will find a hot miniral water there , you will feel your skin become softest more than befor ,
There you will find swimming pools and waterfalls of mineral water, therapeutic spas and specialized treatment and skin care ,
You must come and try , take your time ......:>)
That sounds like a ferry land ... water falls of mineral water ... wow ... I've got to start packing lol ...
I've been to a hot mineral water resort here in the states, up in the Oregon mountains ... every half hour I had to run to the showers and rinse off ... my darn skin doesn't tolerate some salts ... but the experience of floating in the see would be worth while ...
amazing place... i have been here many times, hope you guys find time to visit it too... :-)
Thanks Gabi again , thanks KJ

“The Sea of Galilee and the Dead Sea are made of the same water. It flows down, clean and cool, from the heights of Herman and the roots of the cedars of Lebanon. the Sea of Galilee makes beauty of it, the Sea of Galilee has an outlet. It gets to give. It gathers in its riches that it may pour them out again to fertilize the Jordan plain. But the Dead Sea with the same water makes horror. For the Dead Sea has no outlet. It gets to keep.”
Thanks Karissa for comment !
great information about the dead sea
Thanks shah

nice, little mud of dead sea can provide your body -skin in 15 to 30 minuets with the minerals that you need to eat so many kilo grams of carrots , cucumber , etc for one month or so in order to gain the same and this is of its wonders
