Something Else I Learned About Prosperity

I said yesterday that true prosperity is having God's Presence in us, and also that a function of material and spiritual prosperity is to "bless all the families of the earth"

There is another function of our prosperity.  Prosperity glorifies God!

We're created for God’s glory (Isaiah 43:7:  "Even every  one that is called by My Name: for I have created him for My glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.")

When we began putting our faith in Jesus Christ we positioned ourselves for salvation. Salvation comes in manifold.  Do you know what that means? It means in many parts.  Salvation comes in many parts.  And it includes restoration of our ability to glorify God.

What is the glory of God? His creativity, beauty, perfection, wisdom, power, knowledge, and every virtue that He displays by being Himself.  He also displays His glory through His creation, and of all creations, humans were the only ones He made in His image (Genesis 1:27).

The package of restoration of the ability to glorify God includes power, authority, abundance, and all spiritual blessings in Christ Jesus. (Ephesians 1:3:)

We demonstrate how blessed we are, not by walking around poor and defeated, praising God for being poor and defeated.  Let me ask you something.  Those spiritual blessings are in Christ Jesus, right?  We just read that.  So when Jesus was preaching to 5000 men, plus women and children and He perceived that they had been there all day with nothing to eat, how did He demonstrate His spiritual blessings?

"Okay, let's call it a day!  Everyone leave your tithes in the envelope, My disciples will be by to pick it up.  Everyone run home have a great meal.  Wasn't that an awesome sermon today?  Now be sure and put that into practice in your lives and I'll see you all next time, God willing."

No?  That is what happens today with all these "good" people who are so concerned you are going to lose your soul to the almighty dollar, while they'll take your last one for their building fund and look down their noses at the homeless they pass on their way to the restaurant after "church"!

Excuse me, it makes me angry!

Let's see what Christ Jesus did - Whom they claim to serve. Mark 6:34 tells us that Jesus looked out and saw the hungry AND HE WAS MOVED WITH COMPASSION.

Wouldn't that be refreshing?  Instead of today's standard: "We're a small church we have no funds"?  SHAME ON YOU!  Excuse me, but Biblically it is your job to "have funds" or the faith to produce the provision for whatever the need you are asked.  I say to those people, those "good" people:  GO SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP.  YOU have made my Father's House a den of liars and thieves.

Wow, what righteous indignation. I like your fire, your passion for the truth. Are you sure you're in the right business?
