Ahhhhhh! It's the 1st Day of Spring... a time of new beginnings, plantings, awakenings...
No... no.... no! Hey! STOP! Not that kind of CAR blogbaby... THIS kind of CAR....
YOUR CAR SCORE
So now we come to what we've been dancing around with on this question for a few weeks. How does FanBox earnings compensation work? How much control do you have over your earnings? Is it possible to maximize your earnings? What can cause you to have low earnings, even if you are working hard?
As a coach, I had students who believed that if they were making $.70 cents for Cat & Rating 10 posts, that the solution was to DO MORE of what they were doing. They worked very hard and would just get frazzled, because they would make a little more, but then they would hear someone else say: "I spend 30 minutes Cat & Rating 10 to 20 posts and I make $35!" They would angrily type off an email to me asking me why the system was paying them unfairly. But they were only thinking of the amount of time spent + number of posts and earnings results. So much more was and is in play than that!
The system looks at how you work and records everything you do comparing it against the entire community. Working 16 hours and Cat & Rating 50 and more posts is not the norm, and so the system reads that as "gaming the system". Your score actually lowers.
That is true, but you cannot base your work on only part of the truth. He also told how the system compares what you do to other "smart" people and that your score is partially determined by that. Even that, and hours worked are not the only factors. Are you coming in and madly working 50 to 100 posts, then you're dead and you won't show up for 3 days? Then you see someone earn and you get motivated and you do it again? You are working hard, but that person who is doing less posts than you, is likely choosing better tags, coming in consistently day after day after day, and earning from other
so much talk on CAR but do you think its fair for old fanbox users who are spending hours and hours .in fact spent good time to boost the whole fanbox community, now things are easy and ready then ..new users getting the success easily while old hard worker are suffering...??
You are not alone Ophie who thinks that way.. I am asking myself if am that worst to do that?..when they can why can't I ? but every time i start i fall flat ..I don't want to give up as new users are my encouragement . but its demoralizing sometimes..it looks like there are some tricks but after reading such posts on CAR I start again.. Lets see for how long it is going to test me. Lolz
Thanks Lana. There's much more to come! Great to see you here! Arun,Ophie I'll be addressing your comments. There is method and strategy to the madness okay, it will make sense soon.
very nice sharing...I read this post and because it's late now , so I read and fall asleep and wake up and read again and fall asleep again and again, now just finish reading. It's very interesting so I tried to read till finish...I have tried to cat many styles and never reach $1
but I never give up. I try to read post very well and I hope one day I earn more by categorizing... : )
Thank you for the post...
Without getting to work with you one on one and see how you are selecting your keywords and discussing your thought process it would be impossible for me to know why you are not getting to $1 but let me give you some suggestions:
Do you use the Genie? The Genie is not about affecting your earnings but it does give you a way to quantify what you are doing by keeping up with your progress (not earnings) with "Points"
Agreeing / Disagreeing & Rating the the terms already there (usually 6) earns you 2 points per tag. So for 6 tags = 12 points.
Adding your own tag in the yellow search box is 22 points.
So if you Rate your 1 term + the 6 terms already there you rack up 22 + 12 = 34 points.
But did you know that you can add more than 1 Search Term (Make sure it is relevant and primarily what the post is about)?
You can add up to 20 of your own Search terms. 20 x 22pts = 440 + 12 for 6 search terms already there = 452
So you should be able to average around 452 points per post.
I can get around 1396 "points" for doing 3 posts.
Now the earnings part comes in with how well you pick relevant terms and how you do in agreeing and disagreeing in the terms there.
Points don't help you "earn" - your tags and how well you understand how to Categorize and Rate does that.
One thing that helped me was to work with the FanBox Tag Cloud when I was learning to Cat & Rate.
For instance, let's say I am working on a post that is about Earning on FanBox.
First I had to ask myself: What Is This Post Primarily About. Maybe they talk in the post about taking a vacation to Tahiti because of the money they earned on FanBox. But the post is NOT primarily about a vacation or Tahiti is it? No. It is primarily about Earning on Fanbox. So I want to make sure that the tags I agree or disagree with and that I add have to do with Earning on FanBox. With that as my guide, now I can start picking out tags from the TagCloud that are a good reference for Earning on FanBox... tags like Earning earnings make money and so forth.
And what I did was made a Document on my computer. I made a Folder and Marked it Categorizing & Rating Tags. Then I titled the Document Earnings On FanBox. And I list the 20 tags I found, plus the tags I agree with on the post. Why?
Because the next time I come across a post about earning money on FanBox, I can check those terms fast and make sure they are still popular and use many of them, saving time thinking or searching for tags. I do that with different subjects like Sports, Love Poems, etc.
Of course, many subjects are not going to fit in broad categories, but this will help train you to start thinking of tags and matching them to posts in a way that describes that post.
If you went to the search engine and wanted to find posts on Provider - you would be aggravated if you typed in Provider and got all sorts of Posts on Categorizing & Rating or Ads wouldn't you. They might be great posts, but you want posts about Provider. If the community is doing a good job on C & R then you will find posts about Provider and the best posts will be toward the top of the results page. That is what you want to do for people when you C & R. You don't want to take a post about Provider and put in FanBox , Knowledge Economy, Earnings, Roles, Johnny Cash, blog. All those things might have been mentioned in the post, but is the post primarily about those things or about Provider? Then how will someone looking for Provider find this post with those other tags. If they type in Provider this post will not show up. So be sure to put in tags that someone wanting to know about Provider might search for.
Then when you rate - remember that what you are telling FanBox is that this post should be near the top (one of the best) near the middle (average) or at the bottom (not real good) of the results page for that subject. Get your Success Coach to work with you on this.
This is excellent work Gerry. I am so proud of you. It is easy to read, gets right to the heart of the matter and is spot on. I give you an A positive on this one. Great work here. Blessings

I really wonder how some could earn much in doing CAR? It's said they're doing it the right thing, I still don't get it how right is it.
