Building the CAR of Your Future
Now we have discussed and looked at several "methods" for Categorizing and Rating. Once again these are:
- The Johnny Cash Method
- The May Ram Method
- The George Gogas/L.T. Kong Methods
So which is best? Which is right?
None of them. All of them. Categorizing and Rating is fluid. It is mainly based on popular tag words for the search engine which, as we all know, can change daily based on what the majority of the community members like and are using. So the popular tag cloud you are using today, if you don't keep up, may have you way out of touch with the useful terms in only 2 weeks to a month. The way community members handle tag terms and rating quality also changes as more educational posts go up, and as people talk and change methods.So methodology is not your main concern when Categorizing and Rating at all. And you don't need to be a psychic channeling what the majority is choosing to ask: (Does the term fit this post?) or (Does this term which fits this post compare favorably in quality to other posts I've seen?) Stop worrying about "being smart" and about algorithms and best methods and just make sure you stay fresh and on top of the following things:1. You get paid for every search term you put in the yellow search box. Make sure they are relevant to the post. Make sure you've read the post. Make sure they are One-Word Popular Tags from the FanBox Tag Cloud as much as possible because you know that these are valuable and are the most searched words in the FanBox search engine already. You can put up to 20 of these terms in the yellow box for maximum earnings.2. Make sure that you test to find YOUR level of earnings. Do 1000 points (a good way to measure your input levels) and carefully correlate it your earnings. You will NOT do 1000 points, for instance, and see your results the next day in your Bank. There is a lag from the time you input to when FanBox has the report, assigned your pay based on your individual work and your CAR Score, and then gets it posted. This usually falls within a 24 hr to 72 hr time span. I have seen it take even longer. So test carefully. When you are sure you have your correct earning linked to your input, do some more testing. How much do you currently earn for 2000 points? 3000? 4000? 5000? 6000? I usually do not go beyond 6000 to 7000 points because, for me, the time and effort put into that begins to become greater than the return on the effort. In other words, yeah, I could probably get an AWESOME return on Cat & Rating 50,000 points - but why? The time I spend doing that would be better spent earning greater returns in more liquid cash elsewhere.The Genie, Points and Not Hunting For Posts:3. Going to the Genie which keeps the points score for you, also saves you time hunting posts. Everything you can legitimately do to save time is valuable to your Cat & Rating efforts. But, why do you want to know how much YOU earn for thus many points? Can't I just tell you how much points are worth and you'll figure out what you want to earn from there? No. Points do not have a set value. In other words, I can rate 1000 points and you can rate 1000 points. We can use the same total of entered search terms in the yellow box and let's say both of us rate both on the relevancy of the search term to the post and where we think it should appear on the search results (high / middle / low) among other posts using that search term. We will still earn different amounts. Because my CAR score is my own and yours is your own and a number of factors goes into that score and into your individual efforts. So it's not like we both go to work at Cat & Rate, Inc. and get paid so much per hour or so much per piece. It's more like maybe we have both volunteered to help file on a weekend and we agreed to work so many hours at our hourly rate. Maybe you are a manager level employee making $20 an hour. I am a line employee making $14.00 per hour. For the same amount of hours worked, doing the same job, you are going to walk away with more money than me. Once you find your base pay and can live with that amount, begin to do that many points consistently. Try to Cat & Rate every day. Consistency counts in raising your score over time. So if you make $.79 for doing 3000 points and you consistently (for 2 to 2-1/2 weeks) go in and do at least 3000 points daily - even if you did nothing else to raise your score (yes, there are other things you can do to raise your score) you would begin to notice after just a couple of weeks that you are begiining to earn MORE without increasing your method or the amount of time Cat & Rating. Let that be your goal. (I suggest most people try to make $3 to $5 per day Categorizing and Rating) 4. Next, you want to keep it FUN. Don't make Categorizing & Rating a CHORE. Most people tell me they find it very boring. Begin to play with it. Change your thoughts about it. If you go in thinking, "I hate this. What a drag. 2 hours of boring posts." Guess what you are going to experience? You set your expectations. I'll tell you, I read no boring posts. Nada. Even in the Genie area... if I come to a post that

I have read each line of your this very helpful post. I have applied few methods in C&R. One thing I am sure about is that the roles in other knowledge work also matters in your earning through C&R. For new users its good opportunity though because they start from good CAR ratings.
Other point that I realized while doing C&R under genie , all the activities are recorded there. Suppose if you find a good quality post there and for a fastest smart reader it will take minimum 1-2 minutes(for example) now suppose the post is about your favourite interest and you know what should be the exact popular search tags for that post just by having a look on entire post (but you don't spend 1-2 minutes which is an average minimum time to read the complete post), you dont earn good for the popular relevant search terms you put in yellow box. So basically one has to give minimum time to a quality post and then put relevant tags..its up to the readers if s/he wants to spend the time in reading the post or not.
This observation is for the texts post not the videos because playing a video and time taken in watching video varies and depends on other facts like internet connection speeds etc..

You tried to cover all the point regarding C&R , I like that TEST part. 'May Ram' has told me the best way to judge your daily performance by C&R and believe me it works you can't see your CAR score but you can get an idea whether its improving or not.. by checking your ranking Under KNOWLEDGE QUALIFIER role ..I am sure you know that already. It will be nice if you can add this point too under 'Test' point. Thank you.
Good questions and answers about Cat & Rate. I have read all the posts about cat & rate from people you you have mentioned above and have applied their methods for some time and as for now there is only a litle improvement..also, glitches still haunting my computer.
Timely and helpful post regarding C&R...well explained and clearly idenfied which are the loop holes and I do agree with them all...About my views FanBox has a system and difinitely everything on this system really works if we just know and clearly understands it ...I keep on following this very useful and helpful post of yours...Thank you so much for sharing your brilliant ideas with us...Gerry...

- 1st day with 1,600 points : Earning $0.13
- 2nd day with 4,000 points : Earning $0.26
It is not easy for earning of $1.00 / day for the beginner. Is that right?

Yes, I would be happy to help. The answer depends on several factors, including how long you have been doing Categorizing & Rating. If yesterday was your first day, relax. It takes 24 to 72 hours for your results to show up in your bank. Continue to Categorize and Rate, the algorithms are recording what you do and your results will be posted soon. Be sure and be consistent in your Categorizing and Rating by doing it regularly - because this does affect your base CAR score. Also, working consistently in other Knowledge Roles such as making posts, creating ads, Boosting, participating in Provider etc can increase your score which raises your overall earnings.
