Why Would Anyone Fall In Love With Someone Who Treats Them Poorly?


Why do we end up in the romantic relationships we do?  Obviously, for love.

Why do we end up marrying the person we do?  Obviously, for love.

The person is there for us, they treat us well, they are kind and considerate, they are congenial and understanding, they are warm and affectionate.  And so we fall in love – and rightly we should.

If someone is there for us, treats us well, is kind and considerate, is congenial and understanding, is warm and affectionate, then it is only reasonable that we would end up loving that person.

Why would anyone fall in love with someone who treats them poorly, is rude and inconsiderate, is thoughtless and insensitive, or is emotionally removed and unfeeling?

Admittedly, I do know several people who have fallen in love with someone who treats them poorly.  Often the trade-off has been some hot sex.  Unfortunately, each of these individuals
