Sarah's smiling lips suddenly turned downward as she burst into tears.

"Any idea of why you're sad?" I asked.

Still crying, Sarah said "When everyone leaves, the emptiness sets in and I feel a deep sense ofloneliness. I really don't like being single."

"So Thanksgiving reminds you of separation. We have talked about separation issues from yourchildhood, and it seems the Holiday season is bringing these old ghosts back to haunt you." I interpreted.

Sarah commented, "The worst is New Year's Eve that's not too far off. Everybody is kissing someone and rejoicing the beginning of a New Year with someone special. I wish I had that someone special."
