Female genital mutilation commonly reffered to as female circumcision was practised by some ancient Asian, Arabic and African communities to signify a rite of passage from childhood to adulthoood. In some western countries such as the U.S, F.G.M was practised in the 19 century to cure hysteria, lesbianism and female masturbation. Although female circumcision is still common in some African societies, it is facing sharp criticism from human rights watchdogs and hence christened; Female genital mutilation.

That's very painful...but, when it has been practiced and it is in the tradition and culture, the pain is not given preferences. good job in digging it.

It is also happens in some communities of Pakistan. It is very dangerous and horrifying. But according to the customs people have to follow. Elders curse them if they denied.
I don't know why they do it. and for what reason they do it. But with the men in their child hood it is happens according to Islam.
