Computer Virus: How To Remove It
Ughhhh! If your PC has ever been infected - or worse, if it's infected right now - you're probably groaning. Yes it's a pain, but the good news is: you can remove viruses yourself, for free.
STEP 1: Back Up Documents, Photos and Videos.
Save your important data to an external drive. Be sure to scan this drive and its contents after you remove the virus; you don't want to re-infect your computer after the clean-up.

Thank you Nasa for the heads up!
You are most welcome Eugine.
That's good way of removing virus, but I would suggesting using Avast Pro or rKill to remove and malware, I once had problems with a virus program from screensaver src file, it doesn't appear in my windows folder even I have open the hidden files. So, I try rKill and Avast, they are manage to kill the malware and save my laptop from another re-formatted...
As long it's free, I may use it. thanks Nur "Aziyati. :)
Yes, they are free...I'm not an IT expert either but as long as those software are free, I will use them to maintain my laptop...I'm sure, you'll find them very helpful...

Removing a virus can sometimes be very difficult especially when the virus scanner software is infected. Things get very complicate then if you don't want to reinstall the system.
Anyway... Good first aid article and prevent tips.

Some more hints:
- sometimes you can only remove the visur while you scan it in another computer, but be aware it can also damage the windows, so you might need to repair that afterwards.
- always have backups of all your data, some viruses do not care what they destroy.
- never keep your live virus collection on your production computer (one I let over 2000 spieces have fun on my computer)
Did you know that there are viruses that remove the others. Different virus writing gangs created them agains the rivals... :)
Thanks a lot for the useful advice.
Have a nice day. :)
@simply paula, Tamas Roth, Basharat Jehan, Heaven boy & Kami Sheh-
thanks for your wonderful comments.
Thanks Nasa for this wonderful article. Its not easy to remove virus as they enter your memory and registry and some of viruses do not become active instantly.
Thanks again for sharing
very useful information, thanks for sharing it
nice tips
@Anil Sharma, Pedro Garcia, Abdullaha Abul & Szaboics Titko- Computer is like a living thing, can be infected by many unknown viruses that cause desease.
When I got a virus here at FanBox, I'm not sure if it came from the ads I moderated because when I reopen my account, the internet security antivirus gave me a warning then I can no longer go visit blogs and even my profile. I had scanned immediately and successfully removed the worm. And had done the things you mentioned above, pressing F2 or F8 when opening. It's almost 3 weeks I can't use my laptop as the drivers doesn't load when connecting to the internet. And even now, I still have a limited access to this site. Viruses are really harmful!
Cool Ayz,
Try remove your computer 'cookies' by using CCleaner. Download it from ccleaner.com, you may choose the free version. It helps me to reduce some unneeded weights on my computer.
