As a reader perusing this book, the words "gritty" and "painfully honest" came to my mind. But as a single mother of three daughters, who is also a recovering alcoholic, the phrase "been there, done that," resounded in my consciousness. There is much in the book for any single mother or recovering female addict to relate to, in kind, if not in the same quality or amount as Ms. Hall experienced in this autobiographical book.

Being a single mother is probably one of the toughest jobs any person could have. You are bound to face some challenges on your journey of raising your child or children alone. You’ll have to be a caring and nurturing mother and a disciplining and stabilizing father all in the same day and move seamlessly between these roles! Being a single parent is hard work, but it can also be one of the most rewarding roles you will ever accept. Thanks for sharing this story.
