Simple Salad Recipes @ Home

  I would like to share with you few snaps of our simple yet healthy recipes @ home....the clean, humane lifestyle for all children of God.

Let's begin with Chayote leaves. Did you know that chayote is good for the heart and may also help prevent cancer? Discover the surprising health giving goodness of this cucumber relative. 1. Good for the heart (Folate) 2. Helps prevent cancer (Vitamin C) 3. Helps the body produce energy (Manganese) 4. Helps prevent constipation (Fiber) 5.  Keeps thyroid healthy (Copper) 6.  Helps prevent acne (Zinc) 7. Helps prevent bone loss (Vitamin K) 8.  Helps reduce blood pressure (Potassium) 9. Good for the brain (Vitamin B6) 10. Helps prevent leg cramps (Magnesium)

Bitter melon/gourd - Bitter gourds are very low in calories but dense with precious nutrients.  It is an excellent source of vitamins B1, B2, and B3, C, magnesium, folic acid, zinc, phosphorus, manganese, and has high dietary fiber.  It is rich in iron, contains twice the beta-carotene of broccoli, twice the calcium of spinach, and twice the potassium of a banana. Bitter melon contains a unique phyto-constituent that has been confirmed to have a hypoglycemic effect called charantin.  There is also another insulin-like compound known as polypeptide P which have been suggested as insulin replacement in some diabetic patients. Beneficial for treating blood disorders like blood boils and itching due to toxemia. Treat Cholera, diabetes, improve energy and stamina level, help alleviate eye problem, treat hang over, help cleanse and repair and nourish liver problems due to alcohol consumption, help to build your immune system and increase your body's resistance against infection, known to improve psoriasis condition and other fungal infections like ring-worm and athletes feet,  improve asthma, bronchitis and pharyngitis and cleanses the blood from toxins, help cleanse the liver and also helpful in ridding jaundice for the same reasons.   Sip only two teaspoonfuls of the juice daily...

Broccoli and cauliflower - Broccoli and cauliflower are both good sources of vitamin C. According to the University of Maine Cooperative Extension, a half cup of chopped, cooked broccoli contains as much vitamin C as a half cup of orange juice. A half-cup serving of cauliflower provides 45 percent of the recommended daily allowance of Vitamin C. Broccoli also contains vitamin A in the form of beta carotene. both can improve kidney health and fight against cancers. Cauliflower is considered a good brain food, according to the doctrine of Signature.  More health benefits...

Carrots - contains carotene, a chemical that is converted into vitamin A by the body, it helps prevent night blindness. 1. Carrot can enhance the quality of breast milk. 2. Carrot can improve the appearance of the skin, hair and nails. 3. When taken daily it can lower cholesterol and blood pressure. 4. Raw contain beta-carotene, a strong antioxidant that can prevent cancer. 5. Carrot juice when taken everyday prevent bodily infections and is claimed to be valuable for the adrenal glands (the small endocrine glands situated above the kidneys). 6. Carrot can help improve eyesight. 7. Carrot can help increase menstrual flow. 8. Carrots can regulate blood sugar. 9. Carrot can promote colon health, because carrot is rich in fiber. Carrot is also helpful in the following cases : Obesity, Poisoning of the blood, Gum disease, Insomnia, Inflamed Kidneys, Liver, Gallbladder, Alzheimer'sColitis, Ulcer Painful urination disease.

Tokwa - soya based meal.  Not only is it a good alternative to a protein rich meat meal but is also an important component of a balanced meal that is not only low in fat but also high in fibre and a very good source of complex carbohydrates.

Cucumber -   is best natural diuretic known, secreting and promoting the flow of urine. Helps in kidney and urinary bladder disease, liver disease,  pancreatic disease, the potassium content of cucumber makes it highly useful for conditions of high and low blood pressure, cucumber contains erepsin, the enzyme that helps to digest protein, the high silicon and sulphur content of the cucumber is said to promote the growth of hair, especially when the juice of the cucumber is added to the juice of carrot, lettuce and spinach, mixture of cucumber juice with carrot juice is said to be beneficial for rheumatic conditions resulting from excessive uric acid in the body, cucumber juice is also valuable for helping diseases of the teeth, gums, especially in cases of pyorrhea, the high mineral content of this vegetable also helps to prevent splitting of nails of the fingers and toes and cucumber, radish and bitter gourd are beneficial in diabetes.

Apple - is a rich source offlavonoid and polyphenols both are powerful antioxidant, study shown that by eating 100gof apple can give an antioxidant effect that equal to taking about1,500mg of vitamin C, apple contain a large amount of minerals and vitamins that can strengthen the blood, apple contain malic acid and tartaric acid, that can help prevent disturbances of the liver and digestion, apple cider vinegar when used as beverage can help to prevent the formation of kidney stone, the skin of Apple contain pectin that can help remove toxic substances from the system by supplying galacturonic acid.Pectin helps prevent protein matter in the intestine from spoiling and eating an apple daily can lower cholesterol and reduce skin diseases. Recommended for Obesity, Headache, Arthritis, Bronchial asthma, Inflammation of the bladder, Gonorrhea, Anemia, Tuberculosis, Neuritis, Insomnia, Catarrh, Gallbladder stones, Worms, Halithosis, Pyorrhea

Wow, you presented many of my favorite salads, however, it's my first time to see aloe vera leaves for food, so, how is that? Another question I want to know is can we eat tokwa fresh? How do we prepare it? Now I am hungry but i have to wait till tomorrow... nice share
