For many new members of Fanbox, the first thing they want to do is check out the potential for them to start earning here by posting a blog. Sometimes the choice of subject for that first blog post is the difficulty, but once you have posted something and gained a few comments and seen entries innyour news feed that someone has 'liked' your posts, it quickly becomes easier to post more items.

Great information Dave! This will be very helpful to newbies too! I know for me since I don't consider myself a writer I wasn't sure what to write about, but it's good advice to pick something you know or like and it's easier to write about. It gets easier too with some practice. ;)

A great beginners guide for using the blog editor here on FanBox along with some other good links for advertising , commenting and rating, and using PayPal. But may I point out that perhaps a persons first blog here on FanBox should be a blog that introduces them to the community by letting people know who they are, what is they do and how they can help others , and what they hope to accomplish here on FanBox as a blogger.

For many new members, their ideas on blogging are not yet firmed up, but perhaps the best approach is to look around first and get a feel for the whole process before writing the first blog post.
Yes and maybe they can do this by reading and using the Genie for learning how to rate and comment on other blogs. Pictures likers especially could use some help in how to make their pictures a subject of discussion for an informative blog post that will earn them a little something for people viewing them. As I understand it you do not earn for looking at pictures.
It is the creation of blogs and ads that will earn directly. Blog earnings a re a function of average time sampling - the system monitors readers time on blogs and the average of the sample is used to calculate a share of the pooled revenues. Ads are paid for per click and generate income from the blogs they connect to. Ads for items and services on sale in the listings are only paid a commission from the sales that result, so care in creating those is especially important.
Picture blogs will attract some readers, but it is far better to post some descriptive text with the pictures as that will invite more interest and time on the page.
Photo blogs of a sexual nature are best avoided - they are always subject to deletion if a complaint is made or if an ad for them is created they will be seen by moderators.
All aspects of the site are subject to continual review and development as you might expect - further earning opportunities through investment in boosts and use of product linking, etc, are available to be utilised.
