i have a horse boarding stable. we had a boarder who owned a blind horse, she was quite old but in good physical health. our pastures are about an acre in size. we put her in a pasture with a young gelding. we didn't put a bell on him but if he wandered away from her, she would raise her head and listen. if she didn't hear him, she was call out and he would come immediately and lead her to where he found a patch of tender grass and continue grazing together. They were inseparable until she died at over the age of 40. Special horses, special friends. Thanks for reminding me of our special friends. Thanks for the post
