very nice post.. makes me remember my childhood in the province... so happy to play with the simple things like milk cans and slippers..;-)
One of the best thing I can recall from childhood was the imagination was always active. The fun was about creating things that did not existed when we were growing. Sadly, children now have an overdose of reality, in HD.
Dooood, Slip and slide and water wars in the back yard. making home videos with the vhs cam lol good ole days.
Arlene, cant remember that much, all i know im extremely good at playing marble. this is a total different world all together, got to catch up or otherwise......
I agree with you all...what made it fun growing up was taking simple, ordinary things and making them into toys or using your imagination...
@ Phyzzix: LOL...I miss my slip and slide =)
Oh yes, the good old days. Stick ball, baseball, hand ball, Ace King Queen Jack ball, bike riding, etc. I was out even in the rain and the snow. Kids need to know how to interact with each other. Good post
OH MY, OH MY YES I REMEMBER THE GOOD OLD DAYS WHEN WE PLAYED HIDE AND SEEK... KICK THE CAN... KERB BALL.. ROUNDERS. AND MY FAVOURITE YIPEE SKIPPING.... AND FRENCH SKIPPING...YOU NAME IT WE PLAYED IT BACK THEN PLAY TIME WAS FUN... WHEN THERE WERE NO TECHNOLOGY WE AMUSED OURSELVES WITH OUT DOOR ACTIVITIES, THAT HAS LONG GONE... NOW WE HAVE COMPUTERS HA! HA! HA! TECHNOLOGY YEP ITS HERE WE SPENT OUR TIME NOW BLOGGING AWAY ON FANBOX YIPEEEEEEEEEEE I LOVE IT LOVE THIS POST LOVE MY COACH LOVE ALL MY FAMILY AT FANBOX.... THANK YOU FOR SHARING...GOD BLESS
@ Evette: Forgive me, but what was kick the can and yipee skipping???

OH MY GOD YOUR POST WAS VERY FANFERSTIC, I LIKE IT VERY WELL YOU CAN POST MORE OKEY
Thanks for sharing nice memories of your childhood and playing outdoors. I too played outdoors a lot while I was growing up. Hide and seek, basketball, soccer with boys. I was always a goalee. Playing tag. Rollerblading, etc. You name it. Nowadays, kids do spend too much time indoors playing video games and that is definitely not good for them. No wonder some kids have health problems. Too much inactivity and sitting around.
I played with huge boxes a lot...I liked to bedazzle them and pretend it's a playhouse.
Today's generation of kids are prone to staying indoors rather than being active. I agree with Meliha that there is too much inactivity...which raises health issues such as obesity...
very nice.

Kids these days should play games, have fun, and act like kids---I only draw the line when they never leave the house.
