Language Barrier

by Power User * Arlene * on August 31, 2011

When I first arrived in America at the young age of four, I was very fluent in my two native languages, Tagalog and Ilocano (dialects of the Philippines). Little did I know that the language barrier was going to have a big impact on my life.

Having lived and taught abroad for over 25 years I fully appreciate what you've gone through. Discrimination, of whatever nature and for whatever reason, is painful but can become a good incentive for progress if taken positively.
