Healthy Habits

Take up a few of these daily and/or weekly habits into your routine and you’ll be tuned up and ready to run like a well-oiled machine. And don’t worry, these little healthy habits won’t cut into your TV time -- much.

1. Drink 8 Cups Of Water A Day

The truth is, drink enough water every day, about 8 cups (1 cup is equal to 8 oz.) of water a day is a good habit. You should drink enough water to keep your urine fairly clear, just a tad yellow. That will give your body enough water to regulate body temperature, flush out wastes, and carry oxygen and nutrients to cells and more.

 

2. Eat 10 fruits and veggies servings a day

It sounds like a lot, but you’ll be counting servings, not apples and oranges. Ten servings translates to about five cups of fruits and veggies. You can tick off two servings if you eat a whole apple, and you can get another two if you gobble up a cup of cooked spinach, Popeye. In the end it comes down to eating fruits and vegetables at every meal and for snacks, which is definitely an easy healthy habit to incorporate.

 People who ate five to eight servings of fruits and veggies a day were 30% less likely to have a heart attack. All that good stuff will also keep you regular, give you more energy and help you maintain a healthy weight. So, the next time you reach for your 3 p.m. snack, make it a banana or an orange.

Hi Olivia O. Manu, how are you today? Welcome my dear, we Muslim do FASTING and it helps. I stop taking my morning coffee instead I drink a glass of warm water. Rice, I change to Hydrophonic rice (starch free), frying using Sunflower Seed Oil. It does help bring down my weight and I eat lesser now. I stop smoking a year ago and I cant stop eating and now lesser too. I hope you too manage to control your desire to eat, I did.
