Thanks Dave, I received one today asking me to email through yahoo address, she is single and whatever, and I have received so many in the past but I deleted them . How can anyone just contact a stranger for the first time and start demanding, where is moral? It is amazing. Another one telling me of some millions of someone's money in his possession and the owner dead, wants someone with foreign account to partner with, sharing 50 - 50. he works in a bank in his country, knows what to do, I never replied. I don't reap that evil seed, donate it to charity in your country. It's horrible.

I think that those of us who have been using social networks fro some years will have seen many similar messages and be aware they are 'dodgy'. The goal of those that send these out is to catch the inexperienced members, which are often either rather young or more elderly - like me, hehe.

What they do not realise is that I have been using the internet since before the Pentium chip came into being - and much of that time has been spent using other operating systems that are inherently immune to the malware many will introduce on to a windows pc by sending picture files that contain hidden code. By opening those files on a machine that runs completely different OS on different hardware it is possible to see their sneaky methods without any risk...

In my room I have three computers running 3 different operating systems on 3 different hardware architectures, and the one running windows is the only one on which I ever need to run low level scans. Slaving that through another machine is safest, but slow, so I have 5 programs monitoring all the internet traffic to ensure it remains safe.

As ever, in case of doubt - delete!

These kind of scamming messages are quite rampant, also the sharing of millions of dollars to be transferred to one's country, and a lot more. I just don't entertain. Thanks again for sharing and reminding people.

Its simple. When ever I receive such messages, I just hit my laptop del button, end off. I strongly suggest we all do the same. Ibid

Most are fake, some say they are from the USA but if you meet them on yahoo they then say they have business or whatever in Ghana. You do not know who you are talking too. Most photos they have are STOLEN!!!. It is their job to solicit funds from Americans by whatever method they think of. I have had 4 different names use the same set of photos!!!!!!!!!!!!!! First hint --- within 1 day they will say that they have fallen in love with you. The reason they dont put their photos on Fanbox is that they may not even be the same sex as who they are pretending to be. Guys poising as girls, and vice versa. Fanbox stopped the "Who's Online" feature to prevent this BUT they have found another way, they just search our friends and fans and send them messages as noted above. These people are on Facebook, and all the dating sites.
