When I was making the most money I was making several posts a day. I would say close to 5 at least. I also would run ads here and there. Any where from 1 to 3 ads at a time. Then I would watch them and change them out. Ads help considering they help add fans for you :-)

I never spend more than $3 a day on ads and I only run them for 4 days at a time and when click rate falls - I kill that ad. If click rate stays the same or better, I let it live 4 more days (obviously checking stats daily and killing off ads before the 4 days as necessary).

I've found wisely chosen tags can be as powerful as ads.

Posts
I usually post 4 posts total per day I have 7 blogs so I try to post on at last 4 of them every day to keep the content fresh.

I started of at $3 then changed it up to $10. I also tried up to $50, when it started off at a high click rate, but then it went down fast, so I stopped it. I usually run 3-4 ads, and ran up to 10, now just running two at a time. I try to post at least two, more if I have time.

When i first started all my profits came from ads, (no one knew me) but for the month of April just turning a couple on then off over those few weeks. Ive noticed the general rule for me (ad wise) is about a 33% increase in whatever i've made from new posts. The ads themselves make profit from new posts possible, bringing new fans, new friends, and new followers.

of course you have to factor in topic interest among several other things...

Just experimenting this last month which is the biggest reason i haven't been running ads as of late, very soon im going to increase them significantly.

The big thing about the ads is the exposure you receive. You want to drive people to your page and have them "follow" your blogs. I usually start off at $3 and run ads for a few days, while monitoring how well the ads are doing. If the ad click rate is too low I'll stop the ads (below 1%). I've been running one continuous ad for months, and spending a lot on that particular ad because it continues to make me a lot of money.

Because I have 23 blogs and have time constraints, I only post new content every other day. I don't want to inundate people by posting too much at one time...otherwise they might get annoyed. Plus, I only focus on producing new posts for the blogs that are doing well.

@ Arlene Thanks for your tips! I guess I didn't realize the ads are for exposure too. I thought people used them to make money, but I totally get it now! Guess I overlooked the obvious! ;P

I used ads, but it seems not working so well I used to put a date on them and under my ads column in my profile they will still exist though they were not activate and it seems that the reader use to go there than scanning every blogs I had. 2 to 3 ads a day in just $3 are activate... If I have time I post as much as I can

All of this is very good advice, especially discontinuing ads with less than 1% click rate. Unless that ad is reaching over 1800 people per day, then you need to adjust the ratio accordingly. Lately, I have noticed 3 of my posts that were not turning up after clicking on the Fanbox approved ad from the site of a friend or fan. Two of those posts had been very successful for me. I don't know if it was due to a glitch in the system, perhaps too many ads or too many posts or what. The posts indicate that they are published and there are no yellow marks on the posts anywhere. I have written to Fanbox for a possible solution to the problem. You and everybody else should make sure your ads are working correctly from other people's sites other than your own. For one, I noticed that many of my posts cannot be seen from other people's Fanbox site, for whatever reason. They say "published," but there was a problem somewhere along the way with respect to censorship. That's another issue for another time.

sometime ads gives us so much profit also.As of my experience i spend 10 dollar in my ads and my profit is 7 dollar or 8 dollar.As i always investigate how people earn 50 dollar or 60 dollar through new post i tried to ask with those person who earn from new post then there answers were i dont know. If any one knows the answer then i kindly request u people to please tell me through via mail.and zoe thanks for sharing it

As a $1 cost ad today... I often put new post in ads for a couple of days and put date in it, usally two days and then it will remain under my ads column where you seen under my profile. It will be good to follow the flow chart of click rate notified. I earned most in my new post and I post often 2 to 3 post a day.
