Sweet Chriz @ Baguio City!
(Summer Capital of the Philippines)
- PART 1 -
The City of Baguio (Ilokano: Ciudad ti Baguio; Filipino: Lungsod ng Baguio) is a highly urbanized city in northern Luzon in the Philippines. Baguio City was established by Americans in 1900 at the site of an Ibaloi village known as Kafagway. Baguio City was designated by the Philippine Commission as the Summer Capital of the Philippines on June 1, 1903 and incorporated as a city by thePhilippine Assembly on September 1, 1909. Baguio is the seat of government of the Cordillera Administrative Region. The name of the city is derived from the word bagiw in Ibaloi, the indigenous language of the Benguet Region, meaning 'moss'. The city is at an altitude of approximately 1500 meters (5100 ft) in the Luzon tropical pine forests ecoregion conducive to the growth of mossy plants and orchids. Baguio City has become the center of business and commerce as well as the center of education in the entire Northern Luzon.
According to the 2007 census, Baguio City has a population of 301,926.
The City of Baguio celebrated its Centennial on September 1, 2009. The celebrations marked the first 100 years of the Baguio City Charter, which was authored by former Philippines Supreme Court Justice George A. Malcolm. Baguio City is also the Ghost Capital of the Philippines. - Wikipedia

i still remember when i am a boy scout (secondary education year) , we used to have our christmas camp near burnham park. That was 1957.. burnham part were mostly filled with pine trees and the middle lake you mention where they have boat for rent were just a mere lake, one interesting things we do after our daily activities as scout is to rent a horse and hope around burnham. It was my first time to come near a horse and ride on it. how exciting .. i wonder if they still have for rent horses very the park. you have posted a very interesting pictures of your adventure, and brought back memories in us.. I hope you join us when we visited the philippines... regards chriz... thanks. tito ernny

I have visited Baguio several times in the past years and so very cold then even during summers. But now I heard, no longer the same maybe due to overpopulation. Originally, its designed only for 25,000 people and today it has increased to 6 digits. For those who have not gone yet here, can still be tried for experience.
: i agree! on my part II post you can see my photo with the moutain fiLLed with houses.
