Top 10 Recording Artists Who Never Won A Regular Grammy Award

Diana Ross is among this year's recipients of a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. The odd part - Ross has never won a Grammy in regular competition and thus joins a surprising list of music greats who were recognized for Lifetime Achievement but were never awarded a Grammy in their heyday (Several of them did win post-humously or as solo artists).

1. Led Zeppelin - While the band never won a Grammy, lead singer Robert Plant and guitar virtuoso Jimmy Page won for a 1998 collaboration. Plant won six Grammys for a 2007 album with Alison Krauss. The band received the Lifetime Achievement award in 2005.

2. The Who - Their 1969 rock opera Tommy, penned by lead guitarist Pete Townshend, is their most famous work, but Quadrophenia and Who Are You climbed higher on the chart. The band received the Lifetime Achievement award in 2001.

3. The Doors - The band hit #1 with 1968's Waiting For The Sun album. It also topped the Hot 100 with a pair of singles, "Light My Fire" and "Hello, I Love You." Lead singer and songwriter Jim Morrison died in 1970. The band received the Lifetime Achievement award in 2007.

4. The Grateful Dead
