The nominations for induction in to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012 have already been released, and it’s an interesting list. Ballots will probably be sent out to about 500 voters, who will select the artists to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame next year.

Guns 'N Roses

In accordance with the press release, to become eligible for nomination, “an individual artist or band must have released its 1st single or album at the least 25 years prior to the year of nomination.” That signifies the 2012 nominees should have released their first recording no later than 1986.

The winners will probably be announced on April 14, 2012, on the 27th Annual Induction Ceremony, held in Cleveland, Ohio.

Great post, I like GNR, Donovan, and Heart as well. The Cure is also good. I do agree though that Donna Summer and Chaka are more R an B / soul. It will be like the oscars soon 10 million categories and hours long LOL!

There are usually 5-7 new inductees each year, so there's a good chance your faves will make it in.
