Hope your day tomorrow is better then today, good post!

I just know this is going to be a long week...this incident happening on a Monday is going to affect how this week goes...

Wow.... I hope your day gets better thought its hard try to focus on the positive things going on in your life today... whether it be a simple smile from a stranger or joke someone tells...

just think about God that is always be in your side,guiding ,care and,loves you!..have a nice day Ma'am Arlene!

noone truely knows what goes on inside the mind and heart of others and what brings them to that point the ones who are left behind are left to speculate why why would a person do this? I dont think its an act of selfishness I just think that the person or people that commit suicide are at their wits end and feel like noone is there for them. I too once had thoughts of committing suicide when I was a teenager but I had a great support system behind me to help me get through those times.

@ Tara: I think suicide IS an act of SELFISHNESS because people who commit suicide are looking for an easy way out. EVERYONE goes through suffering and heart ache, but suicide is never the answer. Not to mention, all the people who have to suffer in pain because of the selfish act. This woman chose to jump off a building where hundreds of people work, knowing full well people were going to see her, knowing full well someone was going to find her body, knowing full well she would traumatize hundreds of people. THAT is being selfish. If she felt she had no other choice, she should have confided in someone...

what if this woman didnt have a family or friends that she left behind though. what if she was truely absolutely 100% alone and what if she didnt have the resources to find the help she needed? or what if she tried to ask for help and noone was there to respond? Yes I feel sorry for the people that actually had to witness this but you really dont know this womans state of mind unless your actually in her shoes

Yes Arlene, this was a horrible and very sad to start the week. At one point in our lives, we all probably felt overwhelmed by complicated emotions or situations, but most for us got through them. We can put our problems in a positive perspective and find a way to carry on with determination and hope. There is help, you just can’t expect help to come knock on your door. There are many resources available to help people to deal with depression.

MY EX-WIFE, WHO ABSOLITELY HATES BEING IN AN NURSING HOME, COZ SHE HAS NOONE TO TLK TO, EXCEPT HER BROTHER AND SISTER IN LAW, AND ME, JUST TOLD ME TODAY THAT SHE WAS CONTEMPLATING SUICIDE, AS WELL. SO i HAD TO DO WHAT I COULD DO, IN ORDER TO TLK HER OUT OF DO'N THAT(THOUGH I ONLY TOOK PSYC101-104 I N COLLEGE, BUT NO DEGREE IN IT), I HAD TO RELY WHAT I'D LEARNED WITHIN THOSE COURSES, IN ORDER TO KEEP HER FROM DO'N THAT, SO I HAD TO HUMOR HER. GIV'N SOMWTHIN' TO LIVE FOR.

ARLENE, I'M' A CHRISTIAN MAN, AND I GOTO CHURCH REGULARILY, HOWEVER, WE DON'T BELIEVE IN TAK'N OUR OWN LIVES FOR THE REASONS THAT WE WANT SOMETHING, AND, WE CAN'T GET IT, BCOZ OF CERTAIN CONDITIONS, OR, BCOZ WHAT SOMEONE, HAS DONE TO US. NOT TO MENTION, PPL ARE PUTT'N UP BLOCKADES, TO KEEP US FROM GETT'N WHAT WE WANT, AS WELL.

BUT, AS A CHRISTIAN MAN, WE HAVE TO PUT GOD FIRST IN OUR LIVES, THEN FAMILY, THEN FRIENDS, OUR JOBS, THEN PLANS WE MAKE AFTERWARDS.

ARELENE, THERE ARE 5 STEPS THAT WE FIRMLY BELIEVE IN, SO THAT WE MAY BE ABLE TO OBTAIN ASSURANCES THAT WE WILL BE ALLOWED INTO HEAVEN, BYT OUR LORD AND SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST, AND I SINCERELY HOPE THAT YOU'LL ALLOW ME TO SAY THESE THINGS:

THE 5 STEPS ARE AS FOLLOWS(AND, i'M HOPING THAT YOU'RE A CHRHISTIAN WOMAN AS WELL. IN ORDER TO BELIEVE, IN WHAT I'M TELL'N YOU:

1. HEAR THE WORD OF GOD
2. BELIEVE THE WORD
3. REPENT OF YOUR SINS
4. CONFESS W/THY MOUTH THAT JESUS IS THE SON OF GOD, AND THAT U SHALL BELIEVETH
ONLY UPON HIM(WHEN ASKED TO DO SO)
5. BE BAPTIZED(FULL, AND/OR, COMPLETE IMMERSION, AND, BROUGHT BACK UP AGAIN,
UNTO THE NEW LAW(THE NEW TESTAMENT LAW)

ARELENE, THIS IS THE ONLY WAY, ACCORDING TO MY BELIEF, THAT A CHILD OF GOD, WILL EVER BE ABLE TO BE ACCEPTED I NTO THE KINGDOM OF THE LORD.

I've felt alone in my life, but I would never be selfish enough to contemplate suicide. No matter how dire this girl's situation, suicide is still not the answer. If she really felt she didn't have any resources, she should have seeked help...there are plenty of places that offer free counseling. This whole day has been hell for those who witnessed her death...that alone is enough to conclude the girl was selfish...she only thought of herself and didn't even contemplate the consequences of her actions...how her suicide would effect everyone.

That sure is a horrible way to start off the week. But don't allow this incident to poison the rest of your week. Don't take that person's turmoil personally. Find a way to separate your emotions from that person's despair. What that person did is not about you. Send them your love spiritually. ? We can't worry about things/situations that are outside of our control.

@ Dwight: As a Catholic, I totally agree...suicide is the worst thing you can do...

@ Global: Thanks. I am going to try and not think about what transpired because I guess life goes on, but it is tragic how many people witnessed her suicide...I can only pray for that woman's soul....

UGGGH! dreadful Nothing on earth so bad to contemplate suicide! it saddens me to think a person has such little self esteem . I know things can get unbearable at times but to take your own life????? beyond comprehension .

I found out more about the girl who committed suicide. She was a 23 year-old model/actress (very pretty girl). They found a suicide note in her apartment. Apparently she jumped because her boyfriend (who happens to work in our building) broke up with her, and she was strung out on heroine...although the drugs contributed to her mental state, killing herself over a guy is the STUPIDEST thing ever...

I remember that incident of our friend who liked you. He was in my debut, remember? It was SHOCKING to hear of his suicide. I wish he thought of the fact that when he did that, in a way, he killed his parents, brother, and neice too. May God have mercy on their souls, especially your atheist friend

Yeah I know. I also found out the girl who jumped was on heroine, and I might possibly know who the "boyfriend" is...there's some drama involved in the story...

You've gotta give me the details later.
