Sorry to hear that Mr. Jake. I've heard so many stories from people who have been taken advantage of. I'm glad you didn't actually send the money.
YOu are the best...
yah that's true, its easy to make a fake profile
I think if the people on these sites who are fake tell you that they love you right away, then it is fake! How can someone "love" a person, when they haven't even met? NEVER, NEVER send any money, you will probably never hear from them again after that!
Your best bet is to trust your instinct or gut feeling. If something doesn't feel right or doesn't add up, there is a high chance that it's probably a scam. You can also check someone out by googling them, but that doesn't always work either. While looking for a job, I googled myself to see what potential employers were finding out about me. According to my google search, I am "a world-class athlete who competes in both soccer and tennis and has won many World Cup games and matches at Wimbledon. I also signed a $6million contract with 'a major shoe manufacturer' to promote their cross-trainer shoes." (Now wouldn't that be nice to have all that money just to wear a pair of shoes and let people take my photograph for magazines and ads.LOL!) That's right, I happened to come across someone else with the same name during my Google search.
There are website out there to help prevent people from being scammed such as http://www.womansavers.com, http://www.dontdatehimgirl.com (and their "brother" site, http://www.dontdateherdude.com) and many others specifically warning others about dating scams.
thanks ladies to your views, advice, and comments regarding my experience...thanks a lot..and to miss arlene...for this post...God Blesses us always
Kristin, thanks for those website addresses. Hopefully people can utilize them so that internet dating scams can be minimized.
