Turning aside from the events of the day, I found an interesting thread in one of my often visited web sites. The topic of discussion was, "What is your favorite Stephen King book. This is a fair place to address the question.
I have liked just about everything I have read, that he has written. His short stories are haunting and beautiful, as well as sometimes gross, and in several cases very scary. I just finished his collection of short stories called, "Just After Sunset" two stories there stood out. "The Things They Left Behind " a 9/11 tragedy, and the unworldly ghost story that opens the anthology, "Willa". Nobody can spin a mood as vividly as King. All the other short stories in this collection were outstanding as well. I enjoyed reading the authors comments, after each story, I found them to be insightful and interesting. For his longer novels, I loved "The Stand". It was a great read, I was sorry when I reached the inevitable conclusion, I wanted it to go
