Was a terrible experience this terrible event. Mostly terrible, a man that wants to harm the other.
Yes it is very sad... I still can't believe it happened during my life time honestly, I thought it was something I should have been reading in history books when I was in school.... not something that happened when I was an adult.... I remember I was in the doctors office with my mother in law, and we seen it on the T.V even as a young adult I didn't know how to react to it.... It seemed like a movie nothing that would happen in the real world :(
I was watching the coverage on CNBC while the first tower was on fire. No one remembers this any more, but when the second plane hit Mark Haynes, the anchor on Squawk Box, got choked up and couldn't speak. It was a really tragic moment for all of us, because when that happened we all knew it wasn't just a bizarre accident. The world changed for everyone when the second plane hit.
The good news is, I work in Afghanistan frequently, and the country is improving. There are rough times ahead to be sure, but a lot of great people who want to move forward from the last 30 years. The news media totally get this story wrong.
Jbowen- Thanks! I am so very happy to hear the the people of Afghanistan are wanting a better life. Makes me feel like we are making a difference.
Honestly for me I really don't remember any of the voices but can see the images over and over again in my head... I remember watching the towers fall also....I wanted to change the channel so much I wanted to watch something that would make me happy, but I couldn't all I could do is sit there in shock. I didn't know anyone who lived in New York, so I can't even imagine what it was like for the people living there or who knew someone who lived there....
