Building A Team

I think one of the most challenging things about being a songwriter is to find others to play with. Sometimes I'm so in my head thinking about a song that I can come off as being stand offish (so I've been told). I know there are some songwriters who don't like writing with others because they don't want to split the percentages. But one thing I love more than writing music is to write with others. It's so magical when a group of people can come together and create seamlessly. It's so fun to listen to the finished song...from nothing to a complete song, a story with feelings.

I've encountered so many types of music creators but the challenge of finding collaborators has been in finding the type of people with similar goals when it comes to genre, work ethic, technical ability, and hustle. But things are finally starting to come together. I've been regularly working on music with a producer and singer/songwriter from school, and a couple engineers.

The producer, Lamon Sounz, is originally from Connecticut. His manners and vibe immediately told me he wasn't from LA. He has a laid back charm about him
