Is God male or female?

by Jeff Talks on April 27, 2011

Jews, Christians, and Muslims refer to God as He, but is God male or female?

God is an energy mass, neither male or female. As humans people chose their own faith or don't and that's about as simple as  it gets. No one has the true answer for this.

I always

Our reasons must have a basis. Like boxing, there is the ring and regulations within it are strictly observed. If we are going to talk about religion, the Bible should always be the basis so that we will not be speaking of things we just think and believe it right. The Bible will guide us to what ever things we want to know and believe. For example, Is there God? Psalm 53:1 says: The FOOL hath SAID in his heart, THERE IS NO GOD. Is God male or female? John 4:24 says: GOD is a SPIRIT... What is the status of God? Revelation 19:15- .. ALMIGHTY GOD. What should be our belief in God? ...FAITH, NOTHING WAVERING. To live a good life is written in Romans 7:12- Wherefore, the LAW is HOLY and the COMMANDMENT HOLY, and JUST and GOOD; 1 John 2:3- And hereby we do know that WE KNOW HIM, IF WE KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS ...In Ephesian 3:10 it is written: To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places MIGHT BE KNOWN BY THE CHURCH THE MANIFOLD WISDOM OF GOD.
Therefore, there is good and there are laws to know and obey and these are written in the Holy Bible (1 John 1:3-4).... And these things WRITE WE UNTO YOU, that your joy may be full) so that we will be perfect in the eyes of our Creator (2 Timothy 3:17) that the man of God may BE PERFECT, thoroughly furnished with all good works.

I like your statement that others beliefs should be respected. It's a precept that is biblical. ie.
Romans 14:1-23(AKJV)
1Him that is weak in the faith receive you, but not to doubtful disputations. 2 For one believes that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eats herbs. 3 Let not him that eats despise him that eats not; and let not him which eats not judge him that eats: for God has received him. 4 Who are you that judge another man's servant? to his own master he stands or falls. Yes, he shall be held up: for God is able to make him stand.
5 One man esteems one day above another: another esteems every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. 6 He that regards the day, regards it to the Lord; and he that regards not the day, to the Lord he does not regard it. He that eats, eats to the Lord, for he gives God thanks; and he that eats not, to the Lord he eats not, and gives God thanks. 7 For none of us lives to himself, and no man dies to himself. 8 For whether we live, we live to the Lord; and whether we die, we die to the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's. 9 For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.

10 But why do you judge your brother? or why do you set at nothing your brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.

11 For it is written, As I live, said the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.

12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

13 Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumbling block or an occasion to fall in his brother's way. 14 I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteems any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean. 15 But if your brother be grieved with your meat, now walk you not charitably. Destroy not him with your meat, for whom Christ died. 16 Let not then your good be evil spoken of: 17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. 18 For he that in these things serves Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men. 19 Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things with which one may edify another. 20 For meat destroy not the work of God. All things indeed are pure; but it is evil for that man who eats with offense. 21 It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby your brother stumbles, or is offended, or is made weak. 22 Have you faith? have it to yourself before God. Happy is he that comdemns not himself in that thing which he allows. 23 And he that doubts is damned if he eat, because he eats not of faith: for whatever is not of faith is sin.

And as for your outlook on whether God is male or female. Everywhere you read in the bible God, Elohim Yahweh, is referenced as Father(He His Him) never mother(she her hers).
Genesis 1:26,27; And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth. 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
St. John 4:23,24; 23 But the hour comes, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeks such to worship him. 24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
Also in St. John 16:4-15(NIV) Jesus said,"1“All this I have told you so that you will not go astray. 2They will put you out of the synagogue; in fact, a time is coming when anyone who kills you will think he is offering a service to God. 3They will do such things because they have not known the Father or me.

Actually, God is neither male nor female, as is the breeze that blows on our faces. He (notice I say He? in English, he is used as a default when it does not apply, and she is specific, when the gender is a definite female...) is all and in everything.
God is not human or animal... man nor woman. God creates and exists, but does not live as a human. We pull God down into existence as a being in our minds in an attempt to understand His Mystery.
