You know in a different post when I asked what you thought of abortion?
I seriously cannot believe I missed this. Angie Jackson did better than ask what people thought about abortion, she had one and tweeted it live on Twitter.
Not the surgical kind, the other kind where you take the pill and basically a forced miscarriage happens. Above is her brief video explaining what she's doing, she's already taken the pill and the abortion is occurring as this video is running. Before you rush to judgment, listen to her reasons for this and see if you agree or not

was she for real?

yep- she really tweeted her abortion live on twitter to call attention to the pill based non-surgical methods of abortion. The video isn't graphic she's just talking about the how's and why's.

I read in another story she had to close her Twitter account due to death threats.

I thought it was very brave of her to show the options women have. Most people just shut down around the word. People who want all the babies born that should go into adoptive homes don't realize the sheer numbers they are talking about and no, there aren't enough homes and resources to handle that many new people. Legal abortion should always been an option for any woman that wants to exercise her right.

@Greg Did you ever see the part in Freakanomics where they found a direct co-relation to abortion being legal in the U.S. and the sudden drop in crime in the 1990s?

wow that woman is brave! although I dont agree with abortion I would consider myself pro choice in most instances...in her case since it is life threatening I get why she is doing it. Great Great post!

@Tara - I can only imagine how horrible and judgmental your InBox got LOL... I have no issues if a woman wants to terminate her pregnancy. Personally, I never found myself in the position of an unplanned pregnancy but I fully support a woman's right to control her body.

And for the people who say, "What about the baby who has no choice?"
First of all, that's an incredibly naive question, as 9 out of 10 abortions happen in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy, with the majority within that being around the 6th week. The baby couldn't live outside the mother at this point and is slightly smaller than your average sized strawberry at 0.9" to just under 1-inch in size.

I think the people that say that should volunteer in the Foster Care system in their state. There's actually more stigma and family pressure to keep a baby from an unplanned pregnancy and unwanted children become prime candidates for sexual abuse, physical and emotional abuse and often wind up left behind in development and education. I heard it all during the time I volunteered.

Eventually, they wind up in the already buckling Foster Care system and there simply aren't enough homes now, can you imagine if there were an additional 1.37 million kids introduced into the system every year? We all pay for that with our taxes and people just aren't going to stop having sex anytime soon. The majority of unplanned pregnancies happen from birth control failures not because Mom is out ho'ing around.

Look at the deplorable conditions in the overflowing orphanages in countries where abortion isn't legal. Romania is a great example.

Another consideration, frozen zygotes (fertilized human embryos) are destroyed by the thousands every single day because so many are made for IV pregnancy procedures. The unused zygotes are destroyed. The situation begs the question, "Should there be birth mothers for every one of those babies too"? They didn't ask to be created in a lab, but they were.
My humble opinion which belongs to me is that if you're pregnant and you don't feel you can have the baby for your own good reasons - terminate it and be glad you have the choice to.
