I did a previous post on how fundamentalist homeschoolers fail their children in a clip from "Jesus Camp" which you can see here.

As you may or may not know, we homeschool our youngest child. My oldest has gone off to college on a full academic scholarship and my youngest is just entering first grade.
Both of my kids are gifted and they were/are a joy to teach.

As a homeschooler, I think I may be on the mailing list for every materials company on the planet.

I get tons of junk mail from both standard home school supply companies as well as hardcore religious homeschool places.
I actually live in a state (Ohio) that mandates that children learn BOTH "theories" of how we got here.
Seriously, in the face of all the scienctific evidence, evolution is no longer a theory any  more than gravity is, but there are ignorant people that still want kids to learn it's also a possibility the God made us all and oh yeah, Jesus hugged baby raptor dinosaurs. It does not mean there's not God, it just means nothing proves that's the way we got here and evolution is the correct way it happened.

@Carol - Don't misinterpret - I have zero issues with Christian Home Schoolers. If someone wants to incorporate biblical teachings - go for it. Even my own kids covered the Old / New Testament - but it was read/studied/discussed as fictional literature in my house. I do have major issues with people using the Bible as a science book because it is not and it isn't proven that God made anything and it is proven that evolution is a fact which is solidly proven through fossil records and DNA. To keep that knowledge from your own kids is cheating them from a good education.

We home school our son and, I will teach him the mythology of christianity just as I have taught him about sumerian, mesopotamian. egyptian, greek, and other mythology! Oh yeah...and he doesn't believe in santa claus! ;)
