I think God talks to each one of us but we just call it different things. Some call it instinct, your gut, your intuition, while others call it God. But actually hearing an outside voice as if someone else is in the room with you? There's a clinical diagnosis for that.

@Rose that's exactly what I mean. It's one thing to pray and feel a relationship with God. Have a feeling you should do something - but to think you're actually getting spoken instructions?????
And that whole "submission to your husband" thing will never fly with me.

okay... aren't we being a little technical here... am I the only one with a little voice in my head...? Good angel vs. Bad angel... no one else hears those voices/thoughts. Im not saying that my gut has an accent, but I do hear it...

@Daniel - it's pretty widely accepted that mentally healthy, intelligent, rational adults do not hear voices.

@JoLynn... what Im saying is that "Hearing" is subjective here. It's just the word she may be using to take on the same feeling as "gut instinct" or "woman's intuition" or "spidey sense"... But as someone who has prayed for most of his life, I can say that sometimes the voice of reason/God is sometimes louder than any man could be. You "hear" God throughout your life/day. This is a commonality among "christians". It equates directly to your "intuition"... just a different word.

JESUS IS REAL!!!! I am NOT a fanantic I am a Christian I believe GOD loves the sinner not the sin. God is a just and loving God and will forgive anyone who comes to Him and confesses their sin and is sincere. God wants everyone to go to heaven and be with him, and all one has to do is believe in Him and keep His commandments. The Bible is the true word of God, given for instruction and nurturing and guidence to anyone wanting to live a life as free of sin as possible. Instead of condeming Christians, except for extremist start reading the bible and let God direct your ways.

@Daniel - thanks for your comment. In Bachmann's case she claims she actually hears voices. Not gut instinct, not a feeling or even Spidey Sense (love that one!). Besides the fact she's not the brightest bulb in the box, that's among the many reasons I find Bachmann scary and am mystified anyone would vote for her.

@John - thanks for tossing in here. That's great you feel passionately, but I personally don't believe the Bible is the Word of God and I'll have to pass on letting God direct my ways. But if that plan works for you, great!
