Did you ever hear the story of James Nixon, a 12-year old boy in Ohio (where I live) that wore a pretty offensive shirt to school?
Judge for yourself, the t-shirt read on the front,

INTOLERANT.
Jesus said …
I am the way, the truth and the life.
John 14:6

On the back, the T-shirt read,
Homosexuality is a sin!

Islam is a lie!
Abortion is murder!
Some issues are just black and white!”

So does that mean someone can wear a shirt that says Christianity is a Lie? Or a shirt with a picture of Jesus crossed out because they are making a statement that he isn't real and they can hide behind their religion? That is messed up it seems like the shirt would be used as a distraction and nothing more and everyone wonders why so many school are doing uniforms now its because of stuff like this!!

In my opinion yes it is hate filled! You just don't wear something like that to school! I am truly concerned about what those parents are teaching their children about acceptance!

It states in the Bible that you will be judged based on the way you judge others and wow.....

@Jenny - none of that would be appropriate in school. I couldn't believe they went to court over religious freedom. I would have begrudgingly supported their right for expression under Free Speech - however free speech doesn't support hate speech like this. However once classified under their religious freedom, it's protected and ceases to be hate speech. Amazing.
I'm sure they spent their trailer park rental payment getting him that shirt printed LOL....

I really don't believe that his wearing a t-shirt to school like that is appropriate at all.

@JoLynn yea honestly I just don't get people!!! Seriously how hard is it to just show love and respect for others I mean sure it might be more difficult for certain people you already know and they treat you badly but whole religions! I just don't get people acting like that! Shaking head... things like this just really erk me I don't understand how people feel just because of this reason or that it gives them a right to spread hate... :-( all I can do is shake my head...
agree Glenway....

Dear Jolynn,I read all the write-up and watched all the video.Your topic is so nice. But I believe that no one is capable of fighting for God.I also believe the bible that says "You should love your neighbor as yourself.''The bible did not ask any of us to judge anyone. Therefore, whatever we do,we are supposed to do it out of love.BUT we should not forget to explain the reason for our belief.God is against the wicked EVERYDAY.Who are the wicked? Those that love what God hates, and hate what God loves.God will judge the wicked. Therefore, when we have the opportunity to tell someone the reason for our belief,it should be out of LOVE.God hates abortion, but if something is done out of clear conscience, the person involve is not supposed to let the past event take control of his/her future.God hates homosexuality. It is not a religion. There is no way you cant speak the TRUTH without offending someone.I have lot on this topic but time. Thanks a lot.Love is the greatest of all.

@Omang -what a thoughtful comment. You wrote, "The bible did not ask any of us to judge anyone." The truth itself shouldn't be offensive, the truth is the truth. But when the truth is used to basically bully one's beliefs on another - now that is indeed offensive.

One of my friends wrote me and said, "He shouldn't have worn the shirt to school even though it was right" but he was afraid that people would take him seriously and blast him. :)
