@Beenish interesting comment! I'm going to stick to what Epicurus said and just think for myself. I don't believe in punishment for my supposed "sins". It's far easier to just be a good person and do right for yourself and others and not worry what may or may not be a sin. :)

Anna Petra - thanks for your comment. I've fired employees that had more job competency skills than God appears to. I absolutely don't believe in God and he's not a very good God if he will choose to let my neighbor get an extra $400 in her tax refund and yet ignore a starving family in Ethiopia.

But if you believe it's true for you - that's fine - no one is taking anything away from you.
I just can't find any rational basis to believe in God.

@Anna - good thoughts - but I just have to respectfully disagree. If there were a God first of all there wouldn't be over 33,000 brands of Christianity along with all the sects of other religions. Don't you think an all powerful, all intelligent being could convey what his supposed, actual Word was?

There are 3 answers to all prayers, Yes, No and Wait. It's been proven I can pray to a milk jug and get the exact same results as praying to God.

Why is God such a jerk that he wants people to go through spiritual growth at the risk of watching their children starve to death? That's a little sadistic. If there were actually a God, there would be one religion because the people who practiced it would be blessed with actually having their prayers answered and miracles would be more than common place.
