Miss USA Contestants were asked "Should evolution be taught in schools?"
I can't believe in the new millennium with all that we know to be a fact of how humans got here that evolution is even up for debate. I have no patience for anyone that attempts to use the Bible as a science book. If you still want to believe there's no other way we got here besides a lonely being in the sky designing it all in the face of cold, hard facts - you are willfully ignorant.
My two favorite comments about this video : "You can't BELIEVE in evolution, its a scientific fact. You either AGREE or DISAGREE it exists. That's like saying you BELIEVE in the atom or gravity. If you don't like your child being taught FACTS, don't send them to public school."

Nice interview. i don't have a problem with evolution but it is not true.

@Rabin - interesting comment.

it is ok to teach evolution in higher learning, not in grade school. we aren't allowed to teach Creation, so why brain wash young children, without the other side of the coin

Because evolution is a fact, like gravity. DNA is a fact. Creation is a theory at best and a belief. You cannot believe a theory into existence. If you dismiss the evidence of evolution by natural selection, observable in our world and in our DNA, and you instead believe that our true origins involve a lonely, floating being in outer space, a naked man and woman in a sacred garden with an enchanted tree and a talking snake,... well, 'nuff said. Maybe someday science will prove snakes CAN talk.

Cary- good point, I just thought the contestants were confusing "Should evolution be taught in schools?" with religious freedom, which wasn't what the question was about... vapid, vapid women.

Not one thing in Evolution has ever been proven. Evolution is ALL theory and no fact. So seeing as how there are no actual facts that evolution is true, it is only fair that there be more than one type of teaching for the question how were we created. An intricate machine such as a computer did not simply form because a bunch of circuits, glass and plastic were laying around. Therefore, an intricate being such as a human or animal could not simply form without a creator to design, as well as, form it. Evolution has recently been dubbed a mathematical impossibility by Arthur E. Wilder-Smith. The mathematical probability of a SINGLE CELL coming about by chance is 1/10340,000,000, the fraction 1 divided by 1 followed by 340 million zeros!

Actually, let me catch you up a bit. Evolution is proven through our DNA and fossil records. Not only has the genetic code been hard mapped, we know when the mutation between our ape ancestor happened and we even know know the line of code that mutated and what line on the human DNA strand it mutated on. Arthus E. Wilder-Smith is much quoted by Creationists but the trouble is, he's been proven wrong in that equation.

Evolution is no more a theory than gravity as this point.

I highly recommend reading Richard Dawkins' "The Greatest Show on Earth" from a biologists' standpoint.

Thanks for commenting :)
