Do you ever say, “God helps those who help themselves” or “Spare the rod, spoil the child” and think you're quoting the Bible? Guess what you're not, and there are a lot of other common phrases that sound biblical, but aren't.

Hesitations is my favorite book in the Bible, and I love this quote: “In my college religion classes, I sometimes quote 2 Hesitations 4:3 (‘There are no internal combustion engines in heaven’),” Bouma-Prediger says.

@Carol= hey there! I was wondering where you had been.

I am happy to report although most of the people that visit this blog have very different beliefs from myself, everyone keeps it respectful and cool - and I LOVE THAT. I have heard so many cool stories of faith and belief from people - and also how much we are alike which creates common ground for further discussion. I get a lot of biblical misquotes emailed to me (albeit with good intentions) but I saw this article today on CNN and HAD to share.
