Jo Potocki helps pro choice movements.

I did a post the other day about flipping around the channels and running across TBN - it apparently touched a lot of nerves judging from my Inbox. The comments were good and there are believers that think Benny Hinn and others have brought miraculous changes in their lives, and I think that's awesome.
So be it. It's not for me to say or not - I wasn't there and if someone feels it works for them - believe me, I am all for anything that brings people happiness.

I really do t hink it's shallow of Joyce Meyer to SELL books and "preach" how to turn God into your own personal banker by praying.

@Tawanda - I'll answer you here - of course these people need to pay taxes. If they want to put the money they make actually back into their ministries - then I see the difference but needing a private plane because God doesn't want you to fly commercial or using the money from "seed gifts" to buy a mansion in the Hollywood Hills is just heinous and a gross misuse of followers' trust (and money).

"$600,000 to pay for his divorce lawyers" Of course it's income. We might have to pay taxes on the few hundred bucks my old lady got from a benefit for her last month. If this a$$hole doesn't have to pay taxes, then why should someone with cancer who'd tip over without a walker. Those "followers" might not even get a tax deduction for giving to charity if he's not registered as a charity, using the money for a charitable cause. I keep remembering Jim Baker using the money to get Tammy Fay a tit job and whatever other plastic surgery.

Yeah I'm not opposed to them scamming and making money - I'm not giving them money so I really don't care. Joyce Meyer (the lady with the Joker smile) takes the cake. Joyce Meyer says God has made her rich.
Joyce Meyer on owning a private jet: “There’s no need for us to apologize for being blessed.”
Joyce Meyer on her extravagant lifestyle: “The Word is Faith, Seed Faith, Name It And Claim it. If you want money you need to ask for it.”
Joyce Meyer to get people to loosen their purse-strings: “To give is godly. Never fear giving too much in the name of God, even if it means sacrificing dinners out during the three-day conference. Fear, is the work of the devil. Make your checks payable to Joyce Meyer Ministries/Life in the Word. And million is spelled M-I-L-L-I-O-N. An East Coast woman gave me stock worth that amount. I didn’t have that thing for five minutes and I said, ‘OK, God. Next I’ll take $5 million.”
Joyce Meyer’s open demands: “I want $7 million check. That would really bless me.”
Wondering why god needs all that money?
Joyce will tell you.
Joyce Meyer on whom the money is for: “God does not need our money. The giving thing is not for Him, it’s for us.”
Hey, at least she's honest about her greed.

but they DEFINITELY should pay taxes on what they earn because all their "ministries" are clearly for profit.

My absolutely favorite "Pay for Pray" was a video I posted where Mike Murdock will turn a lawsuit in your favor for a seed of $1,000. My partner posed a great question, "He said what if both parties in the lawsuit send in $1,000?" What would be the deciding factor for Jesus then? Who watched TBN more?
