Honestly if you look at all the things that Joyce Meyers is doing you would understand where the money is going. Also in most cases when she asks for money she has something you can buy for the donation you give so you aren't just giving money you are also getting something in return. I bought the children's bible along with some dvd's that are very educational and my daughter loves. There are so many great things about her. So many people she helps. You can find bad in everything, in everyone. These people tend to get a bad rap because they are out there in the public. Yes she is making money I'm sure she owns some very nice things but she has several books out there. I honestly get a lot of clarity from her books and I get a better understanding of the Bible she puts it in terms that are more understandable she lets you know that she isn't perfect and she still has to try to do good. She is real. You are supposed to live like everything you do, you do it for God. Yes even your laundry is that hard to do at times yes but I just try to be the best person I can be and listening to her story and seeing how God changed her life I can't help but praise God. I have told God what I needed and he provided it. I got that from her. I thought it was selfish to pray for money but she has taught different God wants to know what you want so he can help provided it for you. These are my opinions on the whole thing. I think if something (like faith for example) makes someone more centered and that works for them - that's fantastic. People like Kenneth Copeland, his impaired daughter Kelly and frauds like Benny Hinn and Murdoch with all his "seeds" (money) he wants - are just evil. I personally know of people who send these "ministers" on TBN money - money they really can't afford to spend- in the hopes sending money will send money BACK to them. That's insanity in my world. I'm glad you got something back and it is working for you but I still think TBN is a bastion of greedy people.

Seen Pastor HInn in person, (when i was 13 years old) & the anointing with him, the next day i was speaking in tongues. Last month The Lord instructed me to sow into Benny HInn's ministry, afterwards i received mailings from the pastor declaring my time of lack was over 2 days later i landed 3 new jobs including a nice advertising contract. The Lord speaks through Joyce to me as well, her books have helped countless (i was there) i witnessed the transformations, God is real and he is real to countless multitudes through them. <3

Also I have to say that I was blinded and didn't see your Benny Hinn comment. I have to say that I remember going to see Benny when I was a child I had horrible allergies and and my eyes watered so badly that in the mornings they would be matted shut. I had to have eye drops among other things. I remember sitting there and Hinn pointing over the section I was in and said a child sitting over her has sever allergies and her eyes bother her so badly I am here to tell you that you are healed! I turned and looked around. I felt so much better I felt the power of God. You don't understand how sensitive my eyes were, I couldn't look at someone with dark colored skin because of the fact that it would make my eyes literally fill with tears. (where I lived at the time, that was hard I was the minority in my class) So God healed me when I went to Benny HInn's Ministry. Benny Hinn has come through all the drama that was put on him. I'm not saying there aren't some people out there that are doing the wrong things with the money I am just saying that these are two that I feel in my heart and spirit that have done to many good things in this world, to be classified by as money thieves .

@Jenny that's very interesting. I wasn't there so I don't know what went down but I have no reason to not believe what you write. Your honesty about all is a given. However, you know I don't believe in faith healers, just the same - really, absolutely glad you don't have allergies like that any more!

I totally agree these ignorant people are making God's house a den of thieves and creating disbelief rather than belief in the hearts of sinners. Why wouldn't anyone look at these people and say " IF these people make it I know I will." It's really sad and disgraceful. I am so ashamed of these people. But I have to keep my own walk with God and try to encourage sinners to come to Christ. And to show them that the blessings of God come at no cost because he's already paid the price in full with his blood.

@Melissa - Good point. Why does TBN need to keep paying for their now 47 satellites circling the globe. They found a cash cow in the faithful and they are milking it. I have no issues with anyone being faithful, believing in God, whatever- I do have issues with people like Murdoch telling people to send him a "seed" (money) of $58 and it will grow and grow. I suppose part of that is true but implying that because you give this idiot money God will particularly cause you to get money is just wrong. I know a lot of people like Benny Hinn and Joyce Meyer - my Inbox is a testament to that :D - my opinions don't change. I don't believe in faith healers - I think the powerful, fully unexplored human mind is where the magic is.

I believe God works through others. Where that means that you have no food and all the sudden a friend brings you some or you just need a second away from the kids and a friend shows up to help. I think God works through others in what is done. So when I say I went there and my allergies are gone and my eyes are no longer like that he didn't put his hands on me to do anything, God just pointed out to him that He (God) had healed me. Some people have that connection where they are able to hear what God has to say others can't quiet their minds enough. Also if you look it up on the Benny Hinn thing you will see when he was being accused of all those things he went and got rid of everything to prove he was not doing it for the money... I don't remember all the details of what happened with it, but I do remember that. This is why he is still in ministry because he was found innocent of all they were accusing him of.

My opinion on Joyce Meyer stands if she wants to make money on books, dvds, her public speaking and get quoted saying “God does not need our money. The giving thing is not for Him, it’s for us.” Well I think her tax free ride should end. I dont' care if someone makes millions of dollars selling a service or item - that's Capitalism as its finest - however I do take issue with her not paying taxes and hiding earnings within TBN which is now currently being looked into. And what about Benny Hinn asking for $600,000 from the faithful to PAY HIS DIVORCE ATTORNEY? I could be a jerk and type something like why didn't he just lay his hands on his own marriage? But I don't believe he has any special powers except for getting pushing people down and getting peeps to send him money.

@Carol - good, detailed comment! I don't require anyone to agree with me - in fact it's far more interesting when opinions differ. I like hearing about people and their faith, just because I don't buy it for my own life doesn't mean I can't be impressed with other people showing me how they believe faith has worked in their lives (Tk and Jenny has very positive experiences for example and I commend them for sharing). I am forever interested in that.

@Jenny good points and seriously don't think I'm attacking you or anyone else because I am not. It's my opinion Hinn and Meyer and their ilk are hypocrites of the highest order and it's yours they are not. You don't have to defend them to me, I absolutely respect your point of view.

BUT I do think it's criminal that those types do not pay taxes.
If I had a 4 mansions and a private jet and no "ministry" to hide behind you betcha the IRS would want money. Benny Hinn did was found innocent by TBN and his ministry is not a member of Evangelical Council for Financial Responsibility. That means his finances are private, his salary is secret, and his income is anybody's guess-he can say whatever he wants and it's not verifiable.
The moral turpitude lawsuit with Strang Co is still ongoing.

Yes you are right they should pay taxes and no JoLynn I don't feel you are attacking me :-) I understand that words only have the tone that the reader puts with them. So if you are getting a tone from my words I don't mean it to be there I was just explaining a bit more where I was coming from. If your talking about the Blog I posted titled Hate throwers its not directed at you, you seem to put your opinion out there without bashing others. You respect that we don't have the same opinion and with that I appreciate because it wouldn't be worth posting topics like this if you only wanted people to agree with everything you say. My blog was about people who used words of hate, are there certain people that inspired that yes. But you weren't one of them :-) Not meaning that negative I ment that in a way that you weren't throwing hate lol we need smileys and happy fonts lol

You know someone sent me your blog and said I had upset you and I was thinking - can't be because you and I differ sure, but I know you know that I have nothing but love for you - I think you're amazing just for what you deal with every day with a smile and positive attitude. To everyone making comments about the Bible. When was the last time anyone really read the Bible?
Was it in the last 24 hours? Good then. You know even Atheists are making money on duped ignorant Christian believers! Sincere Christians need to get down on their knees and pray. Walk with Jesus everyday and those wolves in sheep clothing won't bother you, and not even take a penny from you !!
My people are destroyed because they reject knowledge( Hosea 4:6). How many of us are scoffers and mockers? Just like Noah was mocked, Lot and Abraham were mocked, Jesus was mocked; this last generation is taunting and mocking God the Creator.

@Gerald - If you bothered to read the post before you went out and filled yourself with righteous indignation, you would have seen I posted about Prosperity Preachers which in my view, and that is my opinion which belongs to me, has nothing to do with the bible.

There are people who feel differently and they were treated with respect because all views are welcome here as long as no one is throwing flaming bibles.

I don't mock, I simply don't believe in the bible as fact and am interested in hearing views from people that do.

I find there are two main types of Christians, cool ones that understand there are a lot of different viewpoints and they are not offended and happily share their views and back it up with excellent comments - I LOVE THOSE PEOPLE.

And the other type, who are offended because someone does not believe exactly as they do and not believing as they do is scoffing and mocking.

Did I offend you? It was not my intention. I was not finger pointing you. I was generalizing here. The Bible is the Word of the Creator. It makes me sad to know that you don't believe in the Bible. You are entitled to your opinion and belief. Now about the cool Christians, it is unbibilical. The Bible teaches us not to get into vain arguments. I do not have a religious spirit and I love all human being. What do you think if would happen if Jesus walks into a university and the Biology professor starts explaining how we came from the apes. Would Jesus pat him on the back and say he is entitled to have his own belief on Man's origin?

I'm not offended in the slightest. I'm shocked to hear that cool Christians are unbiblical. The Bible is filled with contradictions. It reads to not get into vain arguments and then another chapter says you're weak in the Lord if you do not defend your faith.

As for this: "All sincere Christians knows this: if you are not with me you are against me".

Where's the tolerance? Or were you a big fan of the Inquisition and witch burning? Kill your neighbor on Sunday for working in his yard? Oh yeah, that violates a commandment.

IT is Jesus who said if you are not with me you are against me. There is no in between. You can't serve two masters. You can't serve the Devil and God at the same time. It was the Holy Roman Empire who was butchering real Christians at the inquisitions. There is no contradictions in the Bible. The Bible said a tooth for a tooth but Jesus told the Jews to turn the other cheek. At the same time when Moses was telling the Jews an eye for an eye who was telling them to love their neighbor with all their heart ( Leviticus 19:18). No contradictions my dear.
I am not an evolutionist nor a creationist Christians. Either we were created by God or we happen to be in this world by chance. So it won't be strange if other creatures from other universe came and have us for lunch. Evolution is the survival of the fittest. My dear I have a post about the Bible. @Gerald. Good comment and great points. Although well versed in verse, I don't follow the bible. It's literature to me and nothing I'd base my life on - personally, I'm good without God.

To answer your question : I'm from the Buckle of the Bible Belt in the U.S. and currently reside in Toledo, Ohio, where there were once more churches than anywhere else - it's a truly odd melting pot of beliefs here and I love it.

@Daniella1234 - If you're conveying to "leave it to God" - I don't believe in God and these are people misappropriating funds and they need to be dealt with on a human level, at this moment in time, not after they are dead and they supposedly have to answer for crimes during life. I think allowing people like Murdoch to suck money from people all his life and life high on the backs of others who are simply faithful - is wrong on so many levels. The thievery needs to be stopped - by humans.
Which apparently is being investigated still. I hope something positive comes out of it.

@Breaunna - I do understand honey. Perfectly. These people are thieves of the highest level. They use people's faith to take people's money. Do you love Mike Murdock? Do you agree with him telling people he will have Jesus turn a lawsuit in their direction if you give him a seed of $1,000? Tell me that's not 21st century snake oil. Dateline tracked down numerous people that Hinn supposedly had "healed" and found people with lots of problems like allergies and eczema that he had "cured" - but they also found people with terminal diseases and others that had died because they chose not to seek treatment believing they were healed. And I won't even get into the fact Joyce Meyer teaches people that God can be your personal banker and she bought herself 4 mansions and a private jet -tax free off the backs of the faithful. If you give these people money, you're part of the problem.

No i dont give these people money, i just believe when i give, its were my hearts is at that matters, where the money goes i really dont care as long as i have a pure heart and given for the right reason, that what matters. If your wondering where tthe money went than your in bad shap because its all about your heart, and why are you giving? To receive, are to bless somebody are be blessed, are just giving because its the right thing to do, but you got to have a giving spirit. @Breaunna - My personal opinion stands - TBN is a bunch of thieves. As far as giving money - I prefer to give my money to people that won't spend it on tax free mansions and private jets (Joyce Meyer, Benny Hinn for example). So yeah the fact I pay taxes and that doesn't have a darn thing to do with being blessed - that's called tax evasion using the 5013c clause.

It's right. A lot of fraud . But GOD is GOD. And one day GOD Himself will judge the abusers.

Sometimes we see and are faced with grave injustices in life that corrupts the moral behavior and good eyesight we want to percieve and project. But no matter what... what remains unchanged are our moral virtues.These virtues can never escape from within us because it commands our identity as a whole human being.Thus if we see someone in need we are sympathetic.And If we see someone who is bad,we are angered. These Are all virtues within- morally and immorally. I have read a lot of the works of Jordan Maxwell and D.M. Murdock and its values.Their ideas are great. But they do not sell their minds and their gifts of knowledge. Thus as for me I find no evidence of fraud nor tax evading on religion. Why? because money which is voluntarily given is a gift,But if its forcibly demanded on then its a crime. The bible is the root of all modern laws which tend to balance the footholds of good and evil. So in reality, what the bible teaches is pure wisdoms of knowledge from God. It definitely directs us to abhorr the unholly. And Religion is its tongue. Any religion that does not confide to its truth is not a religion. Believing in God is not a matter of choice but rather an ultimate commitment of a choice. The bible speaks of many examples of human misconceptions and infidelity against God. But in the end,God always prevailed. For me, I find no reason to rebuke you on your ideas and observations nor I am entitled to your truth. Just as Maxwell and Murdock. I believe that every human breath on this earth exist because of God. And that thru the womb of a woman God moulded this breath. And God by his own goodwill and purpose let this breath throlling up and down this world of ours.
