Most of Christianity came from Egyptians. Seriously, watch this short video and you'll recognize ALOT of things are the same. How could the bible have been dictated by diety when it apparently was written thousands of years before in ancient Egypt. Vote is back to god is a myth (like unicorns)....

i appreciate your freedom of speech now, heres my opinion tell me who made us and the earth.? we just didnt pop up here. no one would know who existed after 1000 of years from now or where to find the graves. we will all be hear say while the future decendents are living on solar planets. the bible is all about loving one another and living in a peaceful worry free world. so there had to be a spiritual being to accomplish this task. man could'nt have thought this up because man ( we) are corupted with lying and deceit from the time they enter this world with sins. do this man on the video believe in good and evil if so, which side is he on. this man is enploying more peoples to thier doom to whoever believes in what he is saying and his nonsense findings. he can'nt see tomorrow or. the future but, he knows it exists with out having any proof ! that tomorrow will come. theres proof that peoples was crucified by atheists , like saul (free thinkers) on a cross because of their faith. so, why can'nt jesus had been also ? proof was'nt documented very well back then because they had no technical equiptments. may god bless you any way to the light and truth

@Glenda - good points all. But in my opinion, to believe some magical being created life and the earth is just incredibly warped thinking. I think the bible is an okay piece of literature but I wouldn't base my life on it any more than I would any other book. The story of Jesus mirrors the story of Horus (Egyptian God) who was born of a virgin, performed miracles, crucified, rose from the dead.... 3000 years before Jesus was thought up.

i do'nt mean any harm. but can you proof all of this you are saying. not just words but hard core facts, is'nt this ancient eqypt or horus the ruler that you are talking about is'nt this also , based on words and hear say. like some claims the bible is,

.Every time I write something that even edges towards controversial that black screen comes up- what's with this? It's ok to say Jesus doesn't exist but when I respond in opposition to that particular view, it's blacked out? BULL

It's an intereting theory and i don't belive everything the bible says, but i do belive that it took a lot of love to create our world and all the living beings within it.

@heidi I get that dog chewing on the cable thing a lot too! I hope you can post your thoughts. Although I don't subscribe to Christianity as a beilef system and I do not believe in God/Jesus per se = I really do enjoy hearing why people do feel that way.

@Alexandra - Good thoughts!

@LizandDavid Car - what a silly thing to ask - of course no one knows that at the same time except perhaps a man named Bishop Harber or Richard Dawkins - I'd bet money either of them could answer all those questions at once!. But why would so many religions have a story that runs the same - all the way to one of the newest = Jesus. It's a pretty big stretch.
I'm not arguing with you - I just like hearing the other side of the coin.

When all is said and done, is it so bad to take the words and teachings Jesus gave us and apply them to ourselves so that we become better human beings. We should study all the great teachers and lean how to become better humans. I choose to let the teachings of Jesus and others make me a better person and empower me to love my brother. Bottom line is have you made the world a better place by being in it? Whether Myth or Real Jesus and his teaching are right on the money, but how man and men have interpreted them and used them for power, control, greed, lust is the problem not the words or teachings themselves. Read the story of how Jesus handled the crowed when they brought the prostitute to him. Wow it is so beautiful and true. How dare we judge when we are so far from perfect. Good lesson and I have used it many times in my life.

@ Keyword ~ I believe to each his own, we will wake up each day; either believing in something or someone or not believing. Each person will make choices based on how they see the world and the experiences they've had. You have a right to share your beliefs and I respect your opinion.

However, I choose to believe in the Bible and Jesus as the son of God, not because it is a myth or some mystical jargon that tickles my heart and mind, but because in my life it is real and true! Jesus, is my Savior and Lord.

Just some facts that I believe, people should know:
The teachings and life of Jesus Christ has been documented in over 6,500 fragments and pieces of scripture, there is more evidence for Jesus Christ than any other person of that time. Not only does the world have definitive translation, it has multiple defensible translations, there is nothing that can compare to it in any kind of modern literature, as something that has been so well preserved or studied and viciously attacked as the Bible; which should give every person enormous confidence in what is written in the Bible. And the books that make up the first cannon were all written in the first century, the process of recognizing those books as scripture was a long process, which did expand over several centuries. By the end of the second century we know that the four gospels were recognized and being used as a collective unit. And we also know that the epistles of Paul were functioning the same way. After the second century those books of the bible were no longer debated. No gnostic texts were considered for the cannon by the church, and the reason for that is because the gnostic texts were introduced in the second century.

The statements that the early church didn't believe that Jesus Christ was divine and only later stated as divine by Constantine and his co-conspirators, in the "Counsel of Nicaea", wasn't even said to have taken place until 4th century. And there were already many thousands of documents declaring that Jesus was divine long before 325AD! You have the Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, you have the preaching of the Apostles, the have the book of Acts and the writings of the Apostle Paul. No one believes that any of those books emerged any later than the 1st century. All of them affirm that Jesus was divine, and there are clear statements of the divinity of Christ, you have clear statements of the apostolic preaching, there is no question about it. We have hymnity, sermons, and prayers... of the early church speaking of Jesus as divine. So in my opinion, Jesus is who He says He is, and there is enough evidence to back up what I see as the truth.

Thanks for the chance to share my opinion, have a great day! :)

@ Keyword- I appreciate that very much. I had posted a blog called "Bring the loyalty back to America" and they refused ot post it (I noticed it posted to FB anyway). @Pat- I totally agree. Although Jesus is much more than a good teacher- to me- I think we SHOULD take the words that have become such history & learn from them. Eveyrone believes in the "Golden Rule" right? Well, that's straight out of scripture (The Bible). I don't know if I've made the world a better place or not but as long as I'm doing what I can to help those around me and following what path God has set before me, I am doing what I can. I'm not perfect & until I go HOME, I never will be- but I won't rest until I've become a little better than I was yesterday. Jesus was no push over- he put his foot all the WAY up the Pharisee's keisters- over and over again- why? Becuase, basically, they didn't practice what they preached. He said- you'll go over LAND AND SEA to make a SINGLE convert- and when you do, you make him TWICE the son of HELL that YOU are!" That's some pretty strong wording, if you ask me!
Personally, I don't think there's anything anyone can do to "make this a better world"- it's going to get worse and worse until something happens to stop it, but in my own little corner, I have the power to treat others with respect, love my neighbor as myself & trust in God- it's that trust that gets me through the day, makes me capable of loving others & gives me the motivation not to beat myself up over every little thing.

@Heidi - see I appreciate totally what you're saying. Just because I don't believe in any way, shape or form in the bible or jesus, doesn't mean I am not interested in the people who do. In fact, I'm immensely interested with Christian's (and interested party who can participate without using 18pt font ha ha) points of view.

LIZ AND DAVID WITH BIG FREAKIN' HUGE CAPS ONLY... when on earth did I type that I knew everything? You're pretty typical of the type of Christian that turns me totally off being around Christians. Heidi believes differently and says viva la difference and I totally respect her intelligence and attitude.
And for the record : I don't give a fig what the bible says. It's just a book and I would never base my life or deeds on any book.

I have grown up around different religions, for example, my mum is a Jehovah's witness, my husband is Greek Orthodox, i'm Catholic and some of my closest friends are either Mormon, Indo or buddhist.
If you talk to any of them, you'll find that they all have one thing in common, they all say to be good, to be kind, to be helpful and to love each other.
To me the point of religion is to teach people to be better human beings and to respect each other and their individual beliefs. It's not our job to judge or criticize other peoples beliefs because at the end of the day all that really matters is what kind of people they really are, not what their beliefs are.
I have met people who constantly pray and preach about god and then turn around and do and say the nastiest things you can imagine, i have also met people who don't believe in god and yet they are very nice people.
At the end of the day actions speak louder then words, you may be religious and not be very godly or you may not be religious and yet be more godly.

@Alexandra - fantastic point! Love your attitude.

@LIZANDDAVID - You didn't touch a point in me and by the way, thank you for not typing in all caps. If you know I am not a Christian why would you remotely think I'd be thrilled you were praying for me? Would you like me to ask Buddha Vishnu, Krishna or Allah to turn *your* heart in the right direction?

Of course not, you only believe in God/Jesus is the way and that's fine. That's a great example of forcing your religion down people's throats.

Remember this : Religion is like a penis. It's fine to have one but please don't start whipping it out in public and waving it around.

@Keyword Content- I agree with you, no one has the right to force their beliefs down other peoples throats. We're all entitled to our own opinions.
I personally believe in god but i don't believe in everything that the bible says, to me the bible is just a book that was written by men some two thousand years ago, and we all know how men like to change things around to suit them selves.

@Alexandra - you are well versed in history and I like you! You are so right about the bible, it was absolutely created to control. I love hearing other people's points of view. It's enlightening.

keyword, you do'nt have to believe in jesus, if you have questions about it . thats your right but,do you believe in love ? do you believe in spreading love and joy to everyone you meet. i was like you did'nt believe there was no god. i didnt believe in loving other peoples , before i got saved. i only loved the peoples that had to show me love. if i did'nt get what i wanted . i was selfish. rude, mean ,crude ,revengeful, hateful, decitful , to my love ones as well, as my enimies . i had to go for therapy to find that it was because of abanonment i was suffering from.. i was in pain . i was a mess. i can feel you crying out pretening to be happy . if you was a good kind loving person with love in your heart. when i would say you are a loving person with a loving spirit. but, i can't say that because that is what jesus was and you do'nt believe in him. so, do you believe the things that i told you that i had done in my life. cause i do.nt anymore. i also think that you might be using this to get attention on your blog. you can believe what you want to . but , please do'nt blame it on jesus, could you please stop bashing him.and stop forcing others to hate him. no one is trying to change your opinion. smile , god love you and so do i .

@Glenda - I'm sorry if you're misreading me. I am actually just interested in other people's opinions. I am a happy, balanced, fulfilled person. Believe me. I am never hateful, deceitful or anything.
I'm actually endlessly fascinated in hardcore believers. When Jehovah's Witnesses knock on my door, you know what I do? I talk to them. I have a very devout Roman Catholic friend that cusses them out and slams the door in their face. But again, I'm curious about what they believe and why they believe it.

I believe in science. Religion and science really don't mix.

I also think it's ironic when we have make believe beings such as Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny for children and yet so many people readily believe in an invisible guy that may or may not listen to you with a list of 10 things you're not supposed to do.
That's not something I would believe in.
But I am interested in people that feel their beliefs have changed their lives and I like hearing from them.

Look at the evidence for a long line of magical beings born on December 25th. The story of Horus was written 3,000 before Jesus was even thought up and yet, the parallels are there. Again and again thought several entities. What could the explanation for that be? Jesus was reincarnated again and again? The story of Jesus was adapted from the Ancient Egyptians?

I'm not bashing anyone - that's not my style. Don't take it personally I don't believe in God or Jesus. That shouldn't affect you and good for you if you do and that makes you a better person.

I'm stating my personal opinions and judging from the emails and comments I've gotten people feel strongly both ways for and against. Right now, I seem to be hearing from more people that agree the bible was written by man for control and you have to admit - historically - a lot of really horrendous acts have been committed in the name of Christianity. Inquisition anyone?

i will stay out of this debate....been debating issues too much lately. i was raised catholic and am currently reading and studying buddhism. so i am paying attention to all sides of the debate but cannot offer an arguable opinion because i am at a time in my life where i am not necessarily unhappy with catholicism, but i am interested and learning about other religions.

@Chuck - I love learning about other religions. The different sects of Buddhism are fascinating and Islam has its good points too. I've met many different types of Christians. It's interesting to see how differently the Mormons to Jehovah's Witnesses interpret their beliefs. I find it eternally fascinating.
Bashing isn't what this blog is about.
I don't believe in God/Jesus/Magical Beings - but I don't feel any less fulfilled for it.

I have heard amazing stories about people who stopped drinking, turned their lives around because they believed so strongly jesus was helping them and that's great too if it helps them. Thanks for sharing Chuck!

Hi. I was brought Christian and as I grew older I grew more interested in various religions to learn about them. There are many strongly expressed views here. Thanks for posting this article, it's good for people to engage in lively discussions I think.

@LizandDavid - I am not hateful nor deceitful.

I just know that in life there are people that one runs across from time to time that think if one doesn't believe as they believe then you're disrespectful.

Since you're into diagnosing people, what professional degree and super powers do you carry that you can diagnose someone as mentally disturbed when you can't even spell psychological correctly?

Then you are going to report me to the CEO and then you're going to pray for me? Sheesh you're busy.

I don't believe in magical beings, sorry if that offends you.

If you have proof of Jesus / God (besides throwing a bible this direction) I would absolutely love to see it. I am always interested in facts. Not scripture and not off the cuff remarks. I am interested in points of view not close minded people.

And last but not least, since you're praying for me, I will continue to hope that ....(if y'all read the other post you know how this one ends......)

@HH Straight up truth!

For whatever reasons we as humans choose to believe one way of worshhip or another, the fact is that there is freedom of choice. In essence we have the freedom to choose which religion we want to follow,we have the freedom to believe everything or partially everything done or said in our chosen religion.

One thing that we must not forget is that the worship of something seen or unseen is as old as the world itself. So whether we choose to worship the birds of the air, the fish in the sea or simply bow down to the ground we are only fulfilling something that is and has always been done.whatever we choose to worship is our problem. But the aim of worshiping what we worship is the belief in the achievement of something very beneficial to our person.

This is what the religions are seeking to transmit into our lives everyday. That since we are both flesh and spirit lets give the flesh what will benefit the flesh and the spirit what will benefit the spirit.
To quote Jesus," Give to Ceasar what belongs to Ceasar and to God what belongs to God".

One thing about the religions is that all have in some way gone through the same journey of seeking their true identities as we know them today. And in doing so they have embraced many of the ancient ways from Ancient Egypt to Ancient Babylon and so on.

So we can choose to believe what they teach or not.We can choose to research into their origins to find out how they developed into the religion that they are now. we can deny them as being false and misleading. We can choose to question the existence real or imagined of the founding figures.

One thing stands out clear, that most of their teachings almost always coincides with our needs for better life and how to achieve it,our need for inner peace and harmony, our need for love and affection and most of all our need for fulfilment. Some of us may not be convinced of the role of religion in our lives but everyday millions all over the world are seeking ways to improve their lives and if they have gone to the doctors ,the psychologists with no positive answers, they will most certain come to Jesus,Mohammed,Bhudda, etc as the last resort.
