I just wanted to touch on getting a website because I've gotten a lot of questions about it.

Okay, you CAN start your affiliate sites on free sites like Tripod, Blogger (that would be a Blogspot site), Google Sites or even the free Wordpress.
But you must go in understanding that you don't own your content, your photos, your reviews or your words. The company you're getting the free site off of owns it all and at a whim, they can delete it.

very interesting. I've tried some marketing things online and always failed basically. Maybe I just am not technical enough, or it's just not my niche. I've invested money and lost it, so very cautious now. I am trying some new things now, but haven't had to invest very much in it.

@Jeff Thank you sir.

@Glenway - cautious is good. There are tons of scams but also legitimate ways to make money online. Review sites work well. I have a particular website where I reviewed 3 home remedy cures for yeast infections. I didn't use them but I found women online who did and I used those reviews to make a website where I could point out the pros and cons for each home remedy treatment. For some people, it will be a simple matter of price, for others it will be obtaining exotic ingredients that may not be available in Nebrahoma or wherever they live. Still others will be concerned with how easy the home remedy is to use. There are downloadable guides that I easily pull $60 to $80 a day recommending and the beautiful thing is - if someone isn't happy - all of the guides come with a 60 day no questions asked money back guarantee so I can recommend these with confidence. Ditto with a reversing Type II diabetes guide - I've been selling one of those for a few years now and I think I've had 1 refund request - that's an EXCELLENT sales to refund ratio.
So the moral of the story is - get behind good products, do your research and never recommend anything you wouldn't buy yourself. Clickbank marketplace is a great place to start for guides.

I'm sorry Annie I didn't see you asked a question, FanBox doesn't always let me know when posts have comments. No, I don't use Blogger. I like Wordpress because there are some absolutely KILLER plug ins that will help make you money.

Thank you Gina, I don't offer private classes but I have a lot of good info for making money here from start to finish - plus I can recommend some good guides if you want.

Sure Gina - I'd be happy to. I wrote an 8-part class here on FanBox if you want to make money online with zero investment. There are ALOT of scams - I review probably 100+ guides a year for making money at home and usually they just suck. the only guide I would recommend for anyone just starting out is Dan Brock's Deadbeat Affiliate - he takes you from start to finish on how to make money on Amazon - but you can use it for ANY program. I believe it's $37 and you don't need any of the upsells (more expensive versions) the basic will tell you every thing you need to know. I wrote a review here you can see and decide for yourself - http://hitablog.com/im-comin-elizabeth-hitablog-actually-liked-dan-brocks-deadbeat-super-affiliate.html

@Ginger - thanks! Just be wary if you start a money making site on a free service like Blogger - it can all be taken away.

I've always wondered about affliate marketing. Thanks for such an easy and straight forward post on it. I am currently doing fanbox, GPT sites and surveys gallore. You have helped me figure out if this is right for me or not.

Great advice JoLynn! I like to work with Wordpress sites and then buy my own domain and hosting. That works well and by doing that, you own your site. Not to mention, Wordpress has some awesome tools and plugins that really enhances the blogging experience as well as the readers. :-)

True Wendy, You can optimize yourself right off Google with too many plugins though, gotta be careful. Since the Panda update by Google earlier, Google now sifts though sites every 4-6 weeks, it sucks waiting that long to see if your optimization worked but it's also good because it gives you time to really correct and address errors that are killing your search results. Let's face it, if people can't find your site, they cannot make purchases.
