Why it is important to respect your parents

Why it is important to respect your parents

As children, we are taught to respect all adults, parents and others. We often feel that the adults in our lives are not being fair with us or are being too harsh, when in all actuality they are only trying to protect us and keep us from making mistakes of various types, including some of the same mistakes that they had made when they were children themselves.

All adults go through the same trials while growing up that we have and are going through in our own lives. The old saying, "been there, done that" is a very true phrase and most children nowadays are hearing that same quote from their parents, as they have experienced life and dilemmas all of their own

They try and teach us right from wrong so that we can be protected and grow, just as their parents did to them. We may also hear the old coined phrase, "I told you so" or "I warned you." They are not using these phrases to try and hurt us; however, to let us know that if we had heeded their warning in the first place, we would have never had to deal with this particular situation after all.
