I have had the blessed opportunity to be in such a relationship. It takes work (especially for me) to maintain it. I am constantly clearing away the deadwood of selfishness, the roadblocks of ego, but I have a partner to help me. I wish every couple on the road to marriage (which I have not embarked on yet) or committed living together could read this.
