“WHY AM I AFRAID TO TELL YOU WHO I AM?”

It’s a staggering catchy question, isn’t it? It can set you off to something more!
You and I are no different from each other. We are fragile inside us and hide our real “selves” away from people. This question is from the title of a small book by a minister and author John Powell, not the musician-artist Powell. I have taken the liberty to use the title because it strikes the soul and a line that you never forget. (This article is not the same as John Powell’s book; nevertheless, the subject is related.)
Right now, if I were to ask you to be vulnerable and expose your “self” to others, to those closest to you, will you be brave to do so? I can honestly say I would be terrified. I hate to feel naked and defenceless!
Let’s face it, every single day that we go to work, or go to school, when we dress up to look good, sit behind our desks, meet bosses and office mates, or when we talk to classmates and friends, we are actually careful… very careful… we don’t show them everything. We may not even realize that all along we have been keeping this precious sensitive little one away from others because we are not sure how well they will take us when they find out who we really are.
