So you want to be an Actor.

I get people asking me all the time "How do I become an Actor'"?
"Do I need an Agent"?
"How do I get an Audition for the next Narnia Movie"?
"Do I need an Acting degree to be a Actor"?
The most common question is "How did you become an Actor"?

I have decided to re post some answers to these questions here from my fansite. I apologize if you have already read them.

I have a friend who is an actor in Australia. He says film making in Australia is limited because of funding, in that compared to the U.S budget wise? Anyway, yeah, it takes a while to get your "Big Break". For some it is a piece of cake and comes to them young, such as Jodie Foster, others don't make movies until well into their 30s or 40s, such as Tommy Lee Jones or Morgan Freeman. Just a matter of timing, luck, and fate I guess.
Thanks for the comments everyone. Todd, for MOST Actors it is indeed just hard work. Your friend is right film roles in Oz are limited due to funding. We rely a lot on overseas production coming here. At the moment the Australian dollar is strong and the US is weak ... not good for film making here. People like Morgan Freeman are inspiring to me. I am in my 40's and my career is JUST starting to go somewhere.
Just reposting this for new fans. I will try and Blog in larger font from now on, but this was one of my first when new to FB.
