lol yea I don't get it always taste like crap but hey I don't have to drink it lol and I guess that means my kids will drink less of the sugar water right lol :-)
this was cute. Kool-aid does have a lot of sugar so maybe it's a good thing if you don't make it, lol. but wonder why it don't taste good when you make it.
are you using softwater? =Pp
TK-no I don't I thought it was cause we were buying off brand so we got the kool-aid brand yesterday and yep it was still horrible lol like I said glad I don't drink it... the kids don't complain about it but I don't get how they are willing to drink it ewwww am I so old that maybe I just don't even like the taste any more lol
whats not to like ... u could put sugar in water and the kids would drink it .. i would actually drink it lol
buuuuuut i sometimes have coffeeeee with my suga
I'm kinda glad you don't make good Kool-Aid. Since Kraft bought the company from General Mills they added BHA to the ingredients and According to the National Toxicology Program's 11th Annual Report on Carcinogens, BHA is "reasonably anticipated to be a human carcinogen." The FDA has no honor letting that crap be consumed by humans and Kraft is soulless promoting it like its a great thing for kids.
If your kids like lemonade/limeade I have a great - easy to make recipe for a concentrated syrup that even I couldn't mess up!
Awesome JoLynn please tell!!!!! I would love to make something healthier for my kids!!!
i dont know how to do it too..lol
i think you need to read some books regarding health tips for kids.
This isn't my original recipe - a Turkish friend gave it to me and my kids have loved it.
Easy Lemon Concentrate
2 cups organic sugar*
2 cups water
1 cup fresh lemon juice
In a pan mix the sugar and water together over low heat and stir until the sugar is dissolved into the water.
Add the lemon juice and stir until it just begins to boil.
Remove from heat and cool.
This is the lemon concentrate.
When you're ready to search, pour a cup or glass 1/4th full of concentrate.
Add ice cubes and then fill the rest of the glass up with cold water.
Refrigerate any left over concentrate.
Works just as good with limes too.
*Use organic sugar because nearly all white sugar that you just buy at the grocery store is made from genetically modified sugar beets and early side effects are showing severe allergy development in children and long term ingestion effects is unknown.
cute guy Mamuad- I don't claim to be a perfect parent, there are a lot of healthy things that I give my children, just as there are some not so healthy things this is the way I look at it though if I never allow candy or kool-aid or things along those lines then what happens when they go to a friends house and over do it because they never get it. I may let them have some unhealthy things but I do also regulate how much they have or it. Yes I have read health tips for my children, if I didn't want them to be healthy then I wouldn't be a breast feeding mother :-) Thank you have a blessed day!
Thanks JoLynn- I am going to have to try it might just be putting those things on the grocery list this week :-)
Too funny Jenny - maybe it's a psychological thing, going back to your childhood - just kidding! Have a good day!
lol @ Jan nope I think I just suck at making something so simple lol
Thats OK Jenny... neither can I... LMBO ;) Xo
Sky- Really you can't or are you just messing with me?! lol
hahahahaaa that made my night... fantastic hahahaa
lol :-) sending me the Kool-aid Man!! Oh Yeah!
lol priceless!
I am getting too old. I rode my bicycle without a helmet, drank water from the spigot or the garden hose, never wore a seat belt, played outside until dark, when a baby was born in the family mom held it on her lap or put the baby in one of those car seats that hooked over the front seat. Now i find out that Kool Aid is not good for me either...like I started out saying...I am getting too old.
Funny thing Jenny, I have never made Kool-Aid. Don't know why but I never tried.
Jenny i feel your pain..my kids used to love it. their dad used to ahve to make it. i was terrible at it. However upon coming home from the UK i find the little packets. I take a drink out of my bottle of water add the koolaid and I can do it now yay! LOL
HI Jenny ! My name is Susan and i can't make Kool-Aid either. But I can make a wicked Cape Cod :)
