Mood-Booster foods

     Get in the better state of mind by choosing foods that are high in phytochemicals (which also have a disease-fighting properties) and nutrients including folate, vitamins B and D, and omega-3. These will help you deal with the trials of everyday anxiety.

                              

GREEN TEA- It contains an amino acid theanine, which has been found to reduce tension and anxiety. Drinking two cups of brewed green tea during the day can promote relaxed alertness.

                               

OATMEAL- fiber rich carbs, particularly oatmeal or whole-wheat or whole grain bread- Increase the feel good chemical serotonin but don't break down easily in your bloodstream as the refined sugar in desserts does. As a result, they don't cause as much of a roller coaster effect as sweets, which give you energy, but then make you lethargic. You can also crunch on fiber-filled carbs that may alleviate tension, such as carrot sticks  or apples.

                               

MIXED NUTS- Peanuts, cashews  and almonds have an impressive amount of selenium, a mineral that's been found to help elevate mood. Other high selenium foods are eggyolks, fish, shellfish and poultry.

                               

FORTIFIED CERIAL- Start your day with a bowl of whole-grain cerial, such as cherries or raisin bran. These are especially good sources of sources of B vitamins including folate, thiamin, B6 and B12, all of which help the brain produce

nice one! i got a lot of stress with work so i need tose kinds of food..i am thinking to pick those once i go to the groceries..^^

You sure have to "be good" and not fall off the wagon when deciding what to eat when it comes to healthy foods - I know you can treat yourself once in a while, but all the good food doesn't taste as good as some of the "bad" food - ha ha ha. Good post Viv - thanks!
