Sometimes the calls become infamous, like the Florida woman who called 9-1-1 when her McDonald's ran out of McNuggets, but frivolous calls to 9-1-1 are no laughing matter.

Many calls present real emergencies...but others? Not so much. On one actual C.H.P. 9-1-1 call, a man was concerned because two dogs were having intercourse and seemed to be stuck together.

"The dispatcher was like well, sir, that's natural, that's not an emergency," Hoglund says. "Once the dogs are finished doing what they're doing, they will become unstuck."
