I think helping the world through our writing is an amazing idea. The one I chose has been a battle for me personally in the last year, I hope this can bring more attention, help, finances and understanding to so many great causes. Ive enjoyed checking out what people have picked, I may soon start prodding them to find out why they picked the things they picked.

I'd like to add San Diego Beach Improvement Group (San Diego BIG). It's a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to maintaining and building sports equipment at the beach that everyone can enjoy!! They focus on beach volleyball, beach clean ups and they have awesome events... www.SanDiegoBIG.org

If Person XYZ is reading YOUR blog:

YOU make money, and along with that, FanBox makes an ADDITIONAL contribution to YOUR favorite cause, and XYZ's favorite cause.

Those contributions DO NOT come from your share. You will make the same amount as before.

If you want to give more (from your share) you are free to do that when you cash out (FanBox can help you with that) or (if you like) you can cash out completely and give some money to your favorite charity after you get the money -- but you are in no way obligated to give money to anyone.

How do I choose the charity?

Elizabeth: Currently you can choose a cause but not a charity.

Reason: So that FanBox can ensure that the financial statements of the charities have been reviewed to ensure that the majority of the money they receive is actually being spent on the recipients or cause -- and not on their operations, personnel or computers, etc.

Many members are communicating that they wish they could choose their favorite charity. FanBox has analyzed that request and has begun working on a solution that allows members to do exactly that. Stay tuned!

Thank you fanbox staff, indeed i still have a lot to learn in fanbox. I didn't know this is also another way of earning cash for myself and also support charities. I am so impressed. I never read other people's blogs because i didn't know the importance. I am so sorry, i will now do read. I was also impressed to see many Ugandan's on fanbox.

I am new to this site after my brother sent me a link, can you educate me more about how it works ps, ie how do i make money for the cause i choose {for me will be Bowel cancer}, also how do i make money myself by supporting my cause and reading the blogs. And how do you get the money {do you deposit in my account or otherwise?}. All in all it sounds very interesting, and im willing to be a regular as long as i know i can contribute to my cause. I would like to see charities for Spina Bifida, Make-a-Wish foundation, Children's Hospital, or The Ronald Mcdonald House. Any or all of these would be fantastic. Thanks for looking into it!
